  2. early July weaned it. Sent it to BICC and NFC yb races. nearly 300 miles each race. my first timer in NFC. Still have her now in stock loft.

  4. No comment can do justice. watch out for the golden rivit?
  5. got all the late breds but two older broken pigeons AWOL. 2 hrs 30 mins.
  6. Took the 10 cocks with me just under 10 miles. Still waiting after two hours :emoticon-0138-thinking: still too cold but they have to go racing soon
  7. My yearling late breds have had some tosses in the early summer sun a few weeks ago then yesturday I took them 25 miles. All back so the cocks turn today. Still too early unless it gets another hot period. atb, MJB
  8. But many are cast off and killed because they can not race. a cruel way to treat a dog. Pigeons very similar things happen because of..... I like the spectacle and the challenge of the race but I am always sad when a horse falls and it always brings atear to my eye. I have worked at Uttoxeter races on many occaisons only to see because it is windy a horse per race being destryed and two at one go.
  9. Do you race pigeons? This is as cruel as pigeon racing, dog racing but I do it because I like to see them do well. OMO MJB
  10. I was in the RN in nuclear submarines but never went. Knew lots who went and some who fought and killed. They still remember their stories like it was yesterday. God bless them and the others before who gave their lives so we can live a better one. :002: :002:
  11. I cannot wait for my ybs to feather up. I have the following paired up:- 1. yellow cock to black hen. 2.Black cock to indigo hen. 3. Red cocks who have silvers in them paired up, their sister who is silver paired together. 4. two opals paired together but do not think they will breed because of some genetic issue. reds paired to whites grizzles and ordinary grizzles. Oh and one choclolate paired to a blue but I expect only blues from this pairing. atb, MJB
  12. may be an opal grizzle would like to see a picture? atb MJB
  13. A little young to decide it is Gay.

My dad hated prisoners but he flew up until the 80's. There was very little chance of any birds of prey attacks. I have broken out old birds and lost them flying after a short time. One hen was hit x3 times until she never returned. So for me yes prisoners, but they will have a good avery to bask in the sun etc. atb MJB
  16. I look at location, the man, then the birds. I like pedigrees but I do not demand one. Then they got to fly their skins off to remain here. But I have gone a bit mad this year and purchased many on pedigree only!!!!! But time will tell if I made the right choice or not. atb MJb
  17. very interesting man.
  18. Anyone know if Jackie or Maurice Surtees are still with us? atb
  19. lovely film I had to laugh when his pigeon went in and he ran after it chucking his droppers down. atb
  20. It all depends on the distances flown. I have raced YBs to 300miles, NFC, then as yearlings sent them to two 400 miles NFC MNFC, then 560 MNFC or 500 miles NFC or MNFC. There are not amny left but they continue to perform as two year olds but I have sent them as yearlings to 660 miles NFC and they are done for as racing goes usually. I only ever had one go onto do it again and score. FB Foxy. bred by Eric Fox raced by me!! atb
  21. I have one too. YB with a race rubber on, along with others, fed watered it rested it for 3 days then took it 30 miles, tossed them up. One stood ontop of a car and I had to schoow it up. It flew around clapping with the others. I thought great they are gone. Which was true for all of them but the one I had to schowo up!!!!!!!!!!! She was in the loft upon my return!!! I have taken her single up three times from there and she was home each time. I went to Manchester yesturday and single tossed her there too, North of me by a number of miles. Was she home, you bet she beat me too!! I am not a stray lover and have never kept any ever but I will have to report this one and try to loose her!!! atb
  22. Nice to hear this one, I agree they have it or do not. atb
  23. I never send my best they are too good too loose!!
