  1. Also put fresh bowl in but out of 16 pair in stock loft only 3 have made a fresh nest and most the ybs have moved to new bowl makes you think the birds know what is for the best.
  2. To prevent red mite I put beer mats soaked in creosote ,fresh ones each month. Has worked for years .

    Peanuts,

I feed loads to the stock birds while rearing they fight me for them it's great to see , they are one of the easiest grains for the birds to digest , but peanuts don't win races the birds doo.
  4. Thanks Gareth the corrie articles will be a big plus .
  5. Just wondering why no updates on web site since October ! Nothing about race programme or breeder buyer info or general news .
  6. Our site manager told all worker anyone caught looking at the eclipse without protected glasses would be yellow carded for breech of health and safety and I kid you not lol , the building game is fooked . Doo,s will cope with almost anything nature can throw at them ! Almost . Mine are now on open hole all season hit or no hit .

    Raptors

Hens out yesterday , 2 Percy had a go used my laser on them soon as they fooked of a Sparra hen went into them , today had cocks out for first time in months bang Sparra hen then 2 buzzard scared the sheet out them when I get them to land next door cat makes an appearance ! They wereon the wing for 2 hrs not good for their first fly in months .as much of a basteward some of the cock just kept clapping away oblivious . Tired watching the sky all day . No a hobby a bloody hard job.
  8. At my fathers funeral his words were read out about his life and loves and at the end of the reading he said I must have upset somebody upstairs (god) because both my sons are pigeon fanciers lol. The older brother had them as a young lad but my interest was kindled like many catching the fancy colour birds from under railway bridges then my grandad built me a loft in his garden .
  9. No mate stock birds are in brick garage with no outside windows but have big Avery . Think it's the weather myself .
  10. I bought 6 birds later bred , all eggs full it's my older birds ( only around 4/7year olds that have been dodgy . Must admit I am not a lover of parastop so next year they will not e treated at all ( if my health holds out) . Not saying parastop is to blame .
  11. How is all your breeding going! I am not getting a good return this year , last year I had 100% hatch from my first round but this year I noticed early on that a lot of the eggs were dirty where normally the eggs are mostly clean and smooth but not this year and now I think there are a few that are not going to hatch along with 6 empty eggs, Done every thing as last year , parastop /wormed/canker /etc. I,m a bit deflated by them plus the weather of coarse is crap and can't get racers out much . Rant over .
  12. Chaos is my system , usually send every week whatever I can grab before basketing ( early pickup) but main aim is distance races but if I,m honest I,m not awfy good at this hobby , I do get a odd good one in the inland nats but think that has more to do with the birds than me . Must try harder ,
  13. Been up there today , prices a bit more than our local guy but he has a very good selection of pigeon stuff and a decent bloke , was telling us the planning dep are causing him major problems so can't get really started developing the site . Good luck to him , I will return as it's next to my first training point .
  14. He was the most amazing man to have a conversation on the phone with helped me when I had bother with neighbors , ailments with the birds . A TRUE GIANT in our sport who will be sadly missed.
  15. Not a problem mate , good luck with them .
  16. I have spare hens here , I say spare but mean I have too many hens , mostly yearlings or late breds . I,m in Greengairs if you want to give me a call at weekend . Pm me if interested.
  17. What are you wanting them for ie racing / breeding .or just for racing cocks .
  18. Lot 3 £50 please Thanks Ian
  19. No matter who is right or wrong it puts a bad edge to our sport ( yet again ) makes you wonder is all the hard work worth the bother. Having just read the bhw about Greengairs past champs of the pigeon world what the fook has happened to us all . I loved this hobby , not so sure any more .
  20. I know Delboy and have heard all the rumours about him destroying clubs and intimidation , well my opinion is he is a fantastic pigeon fancier with incredible performances at national racing , if you are scared of the pigeon man be ashamed if you are scared of the club wrecker stand tough he is one man with one vote . The pigeon game is like scottish football in a hole I don't think will ever get out of . Jmo with no affence to anyone .
  21. Lot 3 £35 please. Thanks Ian
  22. Just shows the pure fear these bastewards put them.
  23. Lol the look on the old wifey across the field when she heard me howling and screaming and jumping ( more like crawling ) over the fences was a picture think she thought the local loony had arrived.lol
  24. Let hens out today ! Within seconds a blue pied from John Houston was hit and down I climbed 3 six feet fences to get the basteward it took of blue pied also took off the hawk still tried to knock same bird out sky , by time I get back to garden it has a blue hen pinned and started stripping it , before I get get help out the garage boom boom it was off , she will be back and I will. Be ready , The unusual thing it never tried to take any of my neighbor s pouters , two wounded and very lucky birds . It's amazing how quick you can move when you have to as an older gentleman.
