We race young birds with rubbers, if the suppliers played the game and kept the price down to a reasonable cost then we would consider using them and other fanciers won't be inclined to remove them. As for putting them in life ring's, notffor me, the cost would be greater as you would have no choice but to use them even for young bird racing.

How would that work when the base unit we set to isn't always the same unit we check to? Also every ets clock has its own personal I'd number, if this was checked against the guy's clock he returned the committee would see it was a different clock and raise a question.

"Where there is a will there's a way" Everyone me included assumed the ETS system was safe and the manufactures and racing unions have covered all security risks before they approved them to be used, this risk should have been highlighted and controls put in place to stop it happening, something all unions will need to look at,. But surely the time his birds were marked on his sheet would not correspond to the time the marking station was open and suley he wasn't holding his own paperwork during the race? maybe a register of all members ETS times of marking should be used and verified at check and maybe the person marking shoud sign the sheets, this would stop this happening.

Cheers lads , a very hard race, we are absolutely certain we had our birds right, and you start to doubt youself, no disrespect to all the great birds timed, but where are all the birds?

Just timed in 1/3 a tough day at the office, but happy to get one flown to a ribbon.

Del, he got his bird the next morning, we still only have 4/11, 2 on the day and 2 early the next morning. Roll on the Gold Cup, weather not too good!

Our observations is no matter the race ,location. Or wind it's the same names that time in the early ones, some do have a lean season but they are back the following year. Good doo men and good doos, both working hard for the well earned positions.
