  1. it'll be roundabout for us and yb's natural to the perch.
  2. it looks a lovely loft tristan, few birds in there now and your ready to go.
  3. i must say i'm guilty of not transfering stock birds over also, the reason being as mentioned by someone else, i've no intention of letting them out. i've also bought many birds and no transfer card is with them.
  4. very good, i managed 70% also.
  5. they're looking nice , not often you see a team of yb's all one colour.
  6. i've never treated the birds for canker, had them tested last year (6 birds picked at random) and nothing to worry about.
  7. your making me blush now. thanks for the kind words,i'll always try and help and encourage new people into the sport.

  14. well what's got rid of their immunity then? and why do some people never get it and some get it every year
  15. mine is maidstone as well, with the welsh southeast national since 2005 i've had 2x2nd,3rd,4th+2x6th farwest section. 2x1st,2x2nd+3rd club. although no card at all from there in 2007.
  16. it does my head in, everytime i go on spend twenty mins ignoring all the requests, some bird even sent me a picture of herself with her boobs out.( i did'nt mind that bit. lol)
  17. my roundabout hens had 2 tosses of around 15 mls before the first race last year 103mls, the cocks started the 2nd race they had 1x15ml, 1x35mls toss then 115mls. i lost 3 yearling hens first race and 1 yearling cock second race. i think maybe the hens should have had a bit more work around the loft before hand.
  18. haha your having a laugh right. they won't all be given in the same week. some are for racer's some are for breeders and some is given out of season.
  19. ultimate, garlic cloves, naturaline, aqua guard, prolyte(probiotics, enzymes& electrolytes) in the water. gemthepax,procol12(colostrum),brewer's yeast, honey, garlic oil on the corn. that's basicly all the products i use through the year.(that's all was in the cupboard when i just looked lol)
  20. i don't use peanuts either, maybe had something to do with the kuyper bros film i saw when they said peanuts are for monkeys.
  21. i don't put mine on the dark but i've been told they don't need to go on the dark until daylight gets longer than the night.
  22. hi, the first year i started i was sitting with them for hours, talking to them, whistling when they had food. i also used to keep some redband in my pocket and they soon remember this. i even had a guy(like guy fawkes type of guy) sitting in a chair in the loft all the time and a radio playing all day. when i used to leave the shed i use to put some red band on the guy so they'd be all over it. they got so tame they be looking in your pocket for seeds themselves. all the best.
  23. or when the yb's start walking about the box, put them on the floor and any other's around the same age, that way all the old birds will feed all of them. this is what i do with the young from my stock birds.
  24. he will rear them but make sure you have a pot of food full in his box all the time, soon as the yb's start walking they'll start feeding themselves. go easy on him in the early part of the season.
