hi traynor, i'll tell you my version if that's any good to you.
the loft is 24ftx8ft split into 3 sections(1 would be enough if that's all you got) with a corridor along the front, at 1 end of the corridor is a door that leads to an avairy(this is were i keep the hens during racing)
i let them all have a young un in their boxes first, then i take the hens and put them in the avairy. this is were the roundabout starts. a couple of days after they've been parted(give them time to stop pouting) i let the cocks out, when they're all out i close up all of the sputniks and open the door to the avairy and let the hens into the corridor, they all go to they're boxes and i close the section doors. when it's time for the cocks to come in, they all trap into the corridor and are ushered along into the avairy. the hens now go out and sputniks closed and cocks allowed to come back into the boxes, the section doors closed up. when the hens come in ,they trap into the corridor and are ushered back into the avairy. on basketing days sometimes i show ,sometimes i don't.
