  1. lol yeah a bit, i should have known better.
  2. to be honest with you , i can't understand most of which you written. but the bit at the end seems like a dig at our racing. i race with the bbc, welsh south road(who go with the woec, cscfc, lsecc) and this year i've joined the nfc(i'm sure you know what vels. they're races close at). at the moment some are homing for me in race time, some are not.
  3. i used to be a good(local league) no nonsense full back in my day lol (i'm only 38 now) and way past it lol
  4. we have more than enough down here as it is, 2 yrs ago half way through the old bird season i had 9 cocks out injured through hawks(it's tough going when you only have about 15 cocks to start with ). last season i lost my 2 best cocks on short training tosses(3+4yr old birds) birds like these don't get lost. my 2 cocks from tarbes last season have both missed a year racing due to hawk attacks(ripped open) i think i see more than my fair share of hawks, and thats's without the sparrow hawks around home. which are about every day as i live close to the countryside.
  5. ok i take back the easiest part( i did'nt mean easy by it) but i still don't agree with what a few on here have said that the scottish birds have the toughest route. that's just my views, i'm not looking to offend anyone, least of all the scots as my gran is scottish and am proud of it.
  6. we have plenty of hawks down here in wales also and plenty of rain and mountains and valley's
  7. if you think diffrent state it, don't just say it's a load of crap. i live in west wales and have races to over 750 mls . i'm stating what i think. at the end of the day our birds are having to cross water and scottish birds don't, so to me that's an easier way to finish.
  8. mine not here either.
  9. i think the scottish distance birds have one of the easiest routes into the uk and why i think this is because scottish birds get to cross the channel early in the day while they're still fresh and in good daylight and then are over land as they're getting tired and towards the end of the day so they can roost up if they want, were as a birds flying into ireland and the southern parts of the uk have to face the water late in the day when they're tired and with nowhere to roost up if they fall short.
  10. they're looking nice,well done.
  11. hi albear, i bought a van eijden dvd last week, i was well impressed. i've got a dvd here the greatest story ever told, some excellent van geels, ardens and wegans on it brought over here by terry, what happened to these birds any ideas.

  14. i'm just getting into the long races(500-750+) and i'm using a mix of british top long distance flyer's and mixing them with louella ardens. early signs look good. i don't believe in just 1 strain.
