  1. why can't you just give a straight answer, save yourself the time now i'm not interested i've seen enough with your answer's.
  2. then why did the fed leave the combine? (you knew what i was on about)
  3. hi tom, can you tell us why you left the combine?

    wanted tourniers

natural breeding station has black grizzle tournier, colin surtees imports them, they about £50(they were a couple of years ago) i found they were steady but lacked a bit of pace, put a middle distance family with them like van de merwe does(klak/loon) to add speed and they're ok
  6. i noticed a few replys that said a bird should'nt be sent if it's not got a chance of winning, i don't think this is the case with birds being built up for the long races, so long as they're fit enough for the job in hand i think that's ok . also if your just getting started or trying a new strain/family you need to know what their capabilities are so sometimes you may lose them going further than they're capable of.
  7. i have gone down that road also and it's not harmed mine, they win or score frequently and more importantly they have not had ybs or any other illness. at the start of the season this year i had them tested (throat swabs+droppings) from stock, young+old racer's and the only thing that showed up was worms in some of them. i did then treat for that. but we topped the fed a week before testing and 2 weeks after. i had them tested for piece of mind, you hear so many things going about. i also think that to many people are giving antibiotics for a performance boost . i think if used only when needed there's no problem but you hear of people giving some form of antibiotic every week which i think is a bad thing.
  8. happy birthday, have a good one.

  11. hi pageboy
  12. i had 1 couple of weeks ago got delivered ok to swansea.
  13. hi stuart in an ideal world that would be best but some just want to make a buck off other's backs. that name you mentioned kozaczek haywood lofts are they still about? why i ask is my friend had a hen from them bred him a hen to score 117th+46th nat pau. and 16th nat dax. she's the mother to 3 of my stock birds.
  14. i think it was enough for a new house lol
  15. hi paulo, i did'nt think that. chap turned up on his door with a suitcase full is the story, he turned him away but his kids changed his mind.lol
  16. he did sell it, but he was 3rd open barcelona international this year so he's got another.
  17. i think the first part about selling more birds would be diffrent if you scored in the big internationals, look at robert ben in france only living a few miles away from us and i bet his birds are in high demand. yet we hear of or know very little about french racing over here.
  18. i agree with you there oldyellow, and that's why our whole setup needs changing.
  19. just adding a bit to your reply oldyellow, i've got 1 of the around antwerp videos with dave allen and he's at the long distance flyer's jimmy brands(i think) and he shows him his race programme and dave can't believe it. he has about 15 races of 500 mls or more every week of the season.
  20. i've only had birds since 2004 so i don't know a lot but in recent years brian sheppard as been 1st+2nd dax international, mark gilbert as been 1st international dax and dave posey was 1st international hens dax . i think someone else had a good 1 from dax when brian won but not sure of name crowley+green or cooper's maybe both. the problem over here is we're not set up for international racing and not enough long distance fancier's over have a go, until that changes we'll always struggle.
  21. i believe it's because the birds are flown in competition over here, and as already mentioned their's a load of smaller competition's/organisations over here ,where as on the continent the big names are flying in all the internationals and scoring every year.
  22. thanks oldyellow, cracking bird that, i've looked were marseille is and not a good place for british birds to race from
  23. hi oldyellow, what international was that
