  1. they won't pay the over the top prices we do
  2. looks like someone has had a field day as a lot are gone already, i'm sure they'll not be dissapointed
  3. a1-4 a2-6 a3-8 a4-yearling a5-9
  4. thanks mac.
  5. no , i've got a couple, 5 in fact . sometimes people can't afford to buy birds when they're in their prime, so when you get them older it is a bit of a risk but they're normally cheaper and it's the blood your after. 1 cock i bought at blackpool this year 11yr old but he handled great looked a cracker and has bred some top birds for his previous owner, he would have been out of my price range in his prime.
  6. thanks for the trying gladdo, there's a guy off p/chat going to pick it up for us so we're ok now.
  7. hi people, i need a bird picked in belgium next week from roger reybroeck's he tells me that it's national days next week(don't know what he means by that) and asks if there any english fancier's going over for it, and he will give the bird to them to bring back for me, i will then arrange for the bird to be picked up from them+ something for their trouble. thanks adrian .
  8. i'll have a go, long distance preferred can offer sprint or long in return.
  9. jutla bros have got some from van de merwe. i bought 2 cocks(03+04) done alright for me off the top of my head i can think of at least 5 race's birds from them have won without prizewinner's 1 race this year 1st+2nd with 2 brother's from tours 365mls.
  10. i'd recomend louella to anyone , maybe not the youngster for racing but for stock birds you can't go wrong, apart from the birds i brought in last year(the youngster's from them have been trained only no racing ) stock i've bought from louella have always scored in the breeding. i always cross them with local performance birds or other strains . when i first started in 2004 i bought the performance busschaerts, 4 birds no pedigree's these all bred multiple winner's and prizewinner's(my first ever yb race i was 1st+2nd club 3rd+6th fed with 2 youngster's from these) they went on to breed good birds for me/and friends in club/fed racing . the last few years i've got more into the long distance racing and have switched to louella ardens/wegans/van geels and they are proving very promising also crossed with other's , last year i sent to my first 500 ml race when i sent 2 hens to palamos 753mls(start at the toughest i thought) and 1 got 1 verified 214 th open (i was chuffed) she also flew tarbes 613mls this year(2nd bird) her sire is out of a dbl g-son of de barcelona paired with a dbl g-dtr inv spirit. i flew 2 long races this year tarbes 613mls and bergerac 514mls got 3 out 3 from tarbes first bird 4th sect 29th wsr nat, and 2 out of 3 from bergerac first bird 9th sect 39th wsr nat. apart from the second bird at bergerac the other 4 are from louellas long distance birds . i also topped the fed this year with a bird out of a dbl g-son of intelt de joop. although none of my stock are direct children of louella champions(can't afford them) they will still produce plenty of top birds if your managment is up to scratch.
  11. holloway boy 1st open nfc pau was a clerebaut, i know the padfields have them.
  12. i don't know what your pigeons are like but if your birds are as described above you clearly got problems there(if it's somebody else's birds your on about then they got the problems). i'll get the odd sneeze(the birds not me) but that's about it. and as for birds being put in sick if you don't say something to stop it your as bad as them. if you got respo problems cut down on the number of birds in there or increase the ventilation. i believe most of my the losses are down to clashing/hawks . i also think that birds of today are kept lighter and leaner than birds of yesteryear and as a result don't have the resources to fall back on if they make a mistake/ scattered by a hawk. how many keen young bird racer's do you know don't feed em on a friday or very little(cruel gits). try this.. have no food tommorrow thenget up the next day and go and run a marathon and see how far you get.
  13. a couple of welsh birds i've known about(and it's not many) crocket's rocket 2x 1st open bicc(i think sorry if i'm wrong) and padfields perfection 8th nnrf newton grange (on the north rd) and 1st,3rd,23rd+39th open welsh south road national pau.
  14. i saw on 1 of jim jenner's video's a programme were they used pigeons to help tearaway kids in america at school and it was a great success, all the kids were turning up all the time and a load of them seemed really interested ,what's more their school results improved because of it.
  15. congratulations to both of you.
  16. losing my 2 best distance cocks training(not same day)
  17. my best moments this year were topping the fed for the first time(twice) and clocking a bird in race time from tarbes 614mls the first time i've sent there, last year was the first time i'd sent a bird further than 480mls, i sent 2 hens to palamos(753mls) and got 1 . so this year i wanted to do better on the longer races and got 3 out of 3 back from tarbes(although 1 had to have a lift home for the last 28mls or so after running out of steam) and i got 2 out 3 back from bergerac which is 514 mls to me in west wales , finishing in the top 10 in my section in the nationals from both races, we're a fair way behind the winner's but it made me happy.

  19. anybody interested in these birds get em while you can i can vouch for them ,tidy birds and tidy boys to talk as well. i've only got 1 pair of birds from them but they are producing good birds ,1 hen scored 4 1st club this year plus 4th section,60th open maidstone national another hen as topped the fed, they score as yb's and old birds. if i had the room i would take a couple and feel confident of getting tidy birds off em.
  20. and here.
  21. hi and welcome fletchlives ,patty bhoy and surfer.
  22. i see from the europa report ,that apart from the first prize all other prizes are to be reduced by a third because they did'nt have enough birds entered(2,206 including ventuer birds) although they had a similar figure to last year, why has he not mentioned this until now is it because he's losing his slice of the auction money i wonder.
