  3. they're of a similar quality(although most are unproven aswell) ,chances are the ones going could turn out better than what i got left. i gave away a cock to a charity auction last year, and then last season 2 sons from that cock won 2x1st,2x2nd and a third plus twice 42nd national from messac and tours
  4. don't start dreaming yet ,now the real work begins. good luck , hope you make it. if we can beat fulham away in the fa cup we got man utd in the qtr finals, some fans are already getting carried away.
  5. hi, when people send their cheques can they say who they are . thanks . what i mean is the names on the site are not going to be the names on cheques. thanks
  6. all told i make it £545 i said i'd give 15% to site , i'll round that up to £100 . can you tell me who to make it out to, and where to send it and i'll post it off in the morning. thanks
  7. all lots closed now. i'd like to thank you all for bidding and the site for allowing me to auction the birds on here. i'll send all the winner's a pm with my details and to arrange payment and collection. i'd just like to add that i'm going to swindon tomoz(taking some of last years years second round to a new starter) so if it's on the way or close to the m4 i may be able to meet/drop some off. and i wish you all the best with the birds thanks again.yours in sport adrian boulter.
  8. all lots are nowed closed except lot 7 which i'll give a few mins for anyone to reply as stated earlier in the thread. until 6-10
  9. hi delboy, if you feel you need to treat it's your choice, i don't which is my choice,i don't have problems with the birds and they do well. why would i want to treat.
  10. my returns are good also, but i keep my young birds natural so very rarely send to the end of season races(1 year i did). my main racing is old birds so young birds here have a relativly easy time. but they'll win and score more than most in the early part of the season. young birds are not cleaned out,all droppings are scraped onto the floor and this is the way they'll be kept all season. as i've said i've not noticed anything wrong with them and they score nearly every race . i did'nt race yb last year cause of a problem with a neihbour, but the year before i was winning races with upto 7 birds coming together to win and top the sect from1,400 birds and i was the longest flyer in the result .
  11. i heard a guy went in there with a 5 litre petrol can and got 30 litres in it. lol woman behind the counter told him "cause it's cold it's shrunk" lol .
  12. sorry , i was thinking more along the lines of they're racing ability if not treated for.
  13. so what happens if you don't treat them?
  14. hi delboy, so i guess your saying if everything not's perfect and routine everyday that's ybs. if you want to believe that it's up to you mate. my birds fly for as long as they want , if they fly less/burn off less calories on a particular day they will not need as much food that's not ybs. i never keep my young bird's starving so someday's you'll have a couple that may not want to come in when you want, that's not ybs. i don't care what any vets have told you, most are flogging you products anyway to line their own pockets.
  15. i'd have to disagree with you delboy, we've never had it to any degree.
  16. hi albear, i'm not having a dig or anything but how many birds in your loft would go 600 mls straight from the shed now, not many i bet, if any at all.
  17. hi, i know a couple of years ago they had to take 1 of the ingredients out(when all those new licensing laws came out) it contains vitamins a,d3,e,b1,b2,b6,b12,k3 nicotinamide, panthanol, folic acid, biotin, dimethylglycine, antibac+pigeonguard
  18. hi hotrod, if it was only given because somebody had a problem during the season then yes i'd agree fully with you, but i think a lot of fancier's are giving them every week or before every big race and not because the birds have something wrong.
  19. this thread as started quite a debate but not a single person yet as said they've had problems with the birds and they do use antibiotics. is there nobody on here who's had problems and use them?.
  20. yes redcheqhen, that's the throat swab test i did last year. and the actual swab is about 6/7 inches long, and i had to send it off in a test tube full of some sort of gel.
  21. hi phil, there's just as many(if not more) fancier's over here now giving antibiotics regular.
  22. no they prob. don't, but the young will be hatched before the start of the year and weaned off by the end of jan. i gave chichi 2 ybs a couple of weeks ago these would be flying by now.
  23. as oldyellow said throat swabs. but if you go in the loft and hear sneezing (4/5 in a couple of mins) that should alert you, this is one of the signs(to many birds or not enough ventilation)make changes now, if you leave it go until the wattles are dirty and eye's watery your in the sh*t.
  24. hi les, can i ask you have you ever had any sickness problems?. are your birds poorly before you treat them? what happens if you don't treat?
