I assigned a ring after marking today, clock was in race mode. It was for a bird in my clock that no longer races.

Try Fergie at Nairn, he has whites.

If the answer is yes, then what's to stop someone returning to clubhouse and assigning a new ring to his pooler then when they know birds are returning to lofts they could then put the new eats ring over the pad? Doesn't sound right to me. Too easy to cheat. Paul, if your reading this I'm happy for you to try it with 07 2133 after you mark my birds tomorrow (if we basket). If it works you could post the result here but you'll need to start taking the ringer home with you and I'll take the keys. Don't mark the bird for racing though, the auld boy just sits with his feet up now watching tv or whatever.

We used to feed it to sheep and coos up on Shetland and kept the English/Lerwick strays alive on it until the weather was right for them to try the flight South. It stinks though!

Only if my plastic eggs hatch again............like last year. Sorry to hear about your birds making the great escape John.

4 or 5 years ago there was only about 2 red youngsters left in the whole of the Forres club. Last year I was back up to about a dozen with only 2 left after the racing. I only have 2 red uns this year and 2 mealys, I think it' would be best to have no red types at all from what I've seen over the years.

I've seen this 2 or 3 times. A large bore needle did the trick the first time but because it kept filling with air again it had to be done every day for about a week. The air is not in the crop it's in the air sac. The other two were sorted by making a small cut and gently easing the air out maybe just twice. This caused a lot less stress to the birds and was a lot less messing about.

Most SS Seed Co Ltd, 01740 623958, what was Swainsons are less than 11 pound delivered if you take 50 bags. If 50 bags are too many 2 or 3 people could club together.

If you have electric in the loft you can use heater mats from pet shops, the type they use for snake tanks etc.
