Best of luck lads, hope you all have a good race.
-
I only hope i'm in a position to fly in this race next year, so make the best of the morra while you's can   ALL THE BEST LADS.
-
Just came across this. If you take FIRST prize, you'll know its worth it. The prestige is gained through beating every pigeon entered against yours, regardless of the numbers involved, i can hear some of you shouting fae here, but this is JMO
-
I certainly don't think the SNFC are responsible for low birdage races, you ask anyone and i bet they've lost their birds before the nationals, aye there are obviously losses in national racing but i would think that club racing would account for the biggest majority of losses. All you read on here for example is about good doos going down in training or a 200mls race that meant nothing to them. JMO

:D Your good sometimes

If i'm reading your mind right, think i'll be voting with you Alan

The guy needs to appeal before it goes on to a committee, or indeed the SHU. I would be appealing i know that, even if it is MY responsibility to ensure my clock is in good working order. JMO.

I wonder how the guys in the South and East sections, feel about the race program, and i wonder if they suffer the same amount of losses as the west sec boys. Only curiosity no want to start an argument with anyone.

Well nothing like a bit of controversy to get the facte out. Since this earlier post i have discovered, from impeccable source, that it was indeed the SNFC's fault the Lan Fed members won't get a result this week. Turns out the clever dick's who were marking the pool sheets in the Uddingston station REFUSED to write the rubber ring numbers onto the Fed pool sheets, as was done at Newmains station, So Mr Henderson was sent pool sheets without rubber ring numbers on them. You canny do a result without them so we're snookered 'til Ian gets the national to send the info to him. I know he has let it be known to the station convener that it is Unacceptable for this to occur in the future. Unacceptable was the correct phrase too, because thats just what it is.

Involved with one of they, predict every result, things at work. £5 a head to enter. £135 £50 £25 for 1st 2nd & 3rd respectively. Now i've already declared ma self, in saying England would win the cup, so as you might imagine, ave lost a right few points predicting their scores, i mean ALGERIA! no to mention the group WINNERS the mighty USA! "soccer" team. You should have your heads hangin way shame, after they 3 performances, aye i mean 3, today as well, cos bet your life any of the other FAV's to win the tournament would take 6 off that Slovenia. By the way, i'm still leading the table, NO thanks to ENGALUND. Cheers

What i'm left wondering is, the Lan Fed members racing from Eastbourne would, i assume, use the Uddingston and Newmains stations, the question therefore is not what did the national do or not do, but why didn't the clock setters run off a copy of the times to give to the Fed. I think John Lawrie did that at Newmains so it should happen everywhere.??? I really think it should be clear to everyone what should be happening to the clock sheets. Far as i'm concerned the onus is on the fed to make arrangements for prompt results to be printed. It is, after all, nothing to do with the SNFC when our result is available. The secretary of the national isnae sittin waiting for Lanarkshire times, cos he has arrangements in place to make sure he gets the National members times, whether Lanarkshire or otherwise. Every secretary in the Fed has to get their members times to do a club result, so that means all the information required to do a Fed result, is in the club secretaries hands.
-
Aye, Lanarkshire are at Consett, due to be libbed about 9am.
-
Thats ma concern, the hen only being a yearling, i don't want to send them to separate races, so i think i'll stick to Ypres with them. <_<
-
Assuming they aren't on the wing yet, a few days is enough for them to familiarise themselves with the loft/area. You don't want to hold them too long as they are likely to up and off if they can then fly. If they are homing to their old loft, you should hold them a week before trying them out, but at least you'll know where to get them back.
-
Go on, give me your combined wisdom on this. I have a yearling hen and 2yr olde ck paired up and sitting 10 days tomorrow. They both flew Bovindon, only 5 mins apart, at 3.40 & 3.45pm, neither have been in a basket since but both are looking exceptional just now and flying freely at home, particularly the hen. Now, do i stick to the plan and send them to Ypres on 2 day yb's, or give them a 40 miler tomorrow and send them to the Gold Cup this week???

Do you know what sickens me most about civil servants in particular, There are HUNDREDS of them earning more than the Prime minister of this country. How that was ever allowed i'll never understand, and you want to give them even more out the public purse in retirement, away an no make me sick.
-
Given that the French/Belgian fanciers don't get the same Percy trouble as us, if i was in southern England i'd race south every time.
-
So that them who care less, can bum about something in the club :D

Gerrard should have been named captain in front of Terry, he is hampered in the England team as he has to allow Lampard to go forward at times. If i could pick the team Lampard would be on the bench unless Gerrard was injured. I've never seen Terry or Ferdinand take a game by the scruff of the neck the way Gerrard did in the Champions league final against Milan. That was awesome but as long as Lampard is sharing mid field with him he'll no be able to do that. jmo

State pension linked to earnings simply means the "haves" will get more than the "have nots" even into retirement. I see it as the governments absolute duty, to provide EQUALLY for every pensioner who has worked their whole life, Those with better incomes have the means to raise money to help themselves in retirement, that is the ADVANTAGE they have over the everyday working man. Let them use their inflated incomes to sustain them, they are all supposed to be clever enough to justify a huge salary, so lets assume they have the brains to handle the money properly. NOT jmo.

Would have been nice to see the result of the race instead of meaningless averages -
We all know he's daft, didn't know just how daft though :D

Thats me holding back

You don't have to join a club until you are ready to race. When you do join, the club will take your fees for the Fed, and the SHU at the time you join, sort yourself out with some GOOD birds to get started, then when you have a team of young birds, join your local club, everything starts with them. As others have said, don't be shy asking for advice or tips, plenty good fanciers on this site will help you out. All the best.
