  4. expletive remove jim am only on the wind up do you no think that after flying the birds into this area for the last 20 years i dont no the ins and outs ,sitting here at present with a basket full again of other folks doos that have been cared for waiting on the weather to clear so i can drive up to elvanfoot and release them in the hope they may return safely but after replies like that think tae myself f- it .
  5. Terrible weather raining hills completely filled in zero visibility at present hope things improve .
  6. Thanks for that i have now figured out the one's i lost from the Silly Training toss must have been Duffers .
  7. Spot on there tam .
  8. With the problems our birds have to face nowadays they are only as good as there last race, this weeks winner is next weeks looser ,got told by a gent tonight he lost a 4yo at cheltenham best bird he has owned he said double fed winner ,one thing for sure send your best and each time you do there chance of getting home becomes less as nowadays they are certainly not immortal we all tend to forget that at times.
  9. 80 odd away from lockerbie with solway fed appleton comeback (the doos a mean no the racepoint )
  10. Thing that puzzles me,if the inland nationals are taking birdage away from the gold cup and with the big losses from marlborough and cheltenham if those same doos cannae figure out how to get home from 200 plus miles how are they going to sort it out from 500 plus surely numbers does not make for good racing but the quality of the birds in it
  11. Is that the same frood as the late jock frood of lanark ,jock and the late wilson brown of biggar used to come down to the bowling tournaments that i once ran in moffat, two of life's true gents .
  12. Summer Time :emoticon-0156-rain:
  13. John if the solway fed did not double up with the snfc we would not get a race much beyond 200 mls cant remember when the fed last managed a race from the coast under its on steam thats with racing east and west just no enough doos left each year bad times and it will not get any better .

    Rangers

Lads at work are massive rangers supporters and can't get there head round why walter smith shows face when the deal is done all about money men now and the huge profits that await in a few years time i myself support leeds but worry for the future of the scottish game now ,will have a knock on effect right up to national level as if we're no suffering enough .
  15. Well Done Brian ,I had local tv crew film me few years ago regarding the falcon problem RSPB definately have massive say in what is shown and what is not bet some numpty gets a say atb mick .
  16. Few years ago flying east lost 40 plus youngsters in one race Strong west wind, this year big loss of yearlings west route strong east wind,Weather major player in returns,But still of opinion when a loft is in top form pigeons are very hard to lose, jimmy dal 6 in top 10 of club result from cheltenham national on wednesday not a betting man but would guess that would be very close to his total number entered jmo .
  17. Well done to the timers, had a courier pick up a doo today he said he picked up from liverpool wigan and preston area on wednesday and it pissed it down think velocities verify that from 200 mls .
  18. Don't worry about appleby John sure she will give her best at the gold cup,not sure what the entry will be but one things for sure there will not be many section winners in the baskets ,Good Luck .
  19. Grey skies full cloud cover, visibility ok
  20. I did not send yearlings as i lost 2 very good one's at last years marlborough so lucky choice this time have dropped a lot of yearlings this year and like yourself were birds that were not properly raced as youngsters but this has a lot to do with yb sickness doing the rounds in the transporter when the season starts, gone are the days when we could hammer them and still be left with a team .
  21. Peter don't think good enough came into it today i fly the furthest in the solway fed 242mls gretna is approx 213 mls on a club race from cheltenham if you were not in ten minutes after the leader you would not be on the result yet i was at the clock station tonight and i clocked 6 HOURS after the winner ,the bird i clocked raced the full yb programme including the national as a yearling every race including 2 nationals marlborough and eastbourne and then today takes 11 hours from 242 miles the state he has arrived home in i cannot say he has not given his all.
  22. Well Done Dale, time in the baskets was never going to be a good one.
  23. Well Done how it got up past here like a winters night take note of that one big heart still to be flying at that time def in the one percent if you do give them up i'll buy that one of you mate class
  24. Thanks Brian just glad to have the 2 cocks home they were well behind the winners but at least here to fight another day which sadly at present a large percentage of the convoy are not very very poor year weatherwise bloody east wind back again .
  25. Just back from clock station from what i here a lot of very good birds missing, the weather going down the 30 mls was not good and looking across the solway into cumbria it was black ,even travelling back up the motorway a lot of rain about with low clouds was very happy to have my second bird back in those conditions and take my hat of to the doos that have made it further north than me in these conditions well done .
