BLACK W F Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 basketing going ahead as normal, strictly 25 birds per crate, first message will be 08.30
blue lad Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 How much birds can our transporter hold. ? Could we not lessen the amount of birds per basket. Due to the heat ?
BLACK W F Posted August 2, 2018 Author Report Posted August 2, 2018 How much birds can our transporter hold. ? Could we not lessen the amount of birds per basket. Due to the heat ?the race controller has stated the no of birds per crate as the trans is expected to be full and will need all clubs to fill their crates so all clubs get a fair crack of the whip I will leave it at that
grdkeith Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 How much birds can our transporter hold. ? Could we not lessen the amount of birds per basket. Due to the heat ? I am not in the habit of commenting on Fed business online but gimme a clue, how many birds will be on the lorry tomorrow
grdkeith Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 FDFC estimate of 260 birds Thanks Colin, hope to have 150+ from us
Dave barrie Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 buckie, mebbe 150 for airflow and three sides watering we have the best transporter out,i have never yet smelled pigeon in the back and it is never hot, the airflow above heads flowing into each crate is the best with roof skylights that are never closed,i would have no wories taking 30 to a crate for a short race its that good imo of course.
philg50 Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 Just a guess mine 250 + for Banff is Elgin going.
grdkeith Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 Inverurie could have over 250 So if West end and peterhead make about 450/500 that's ,half the lorry full from east 40 x 25 , with 350+ from the West before banff and feds largest club elgin i would be interested to know how to cut birdage in crates and ensure inverurie have room for their birds when the lorry turns up just before midnight

Buckie doos are on the lorry for 12 hours before they reach the race point Inverurie doos are on the lorry for 3 to 4 hours Thats the diffrence My doos will not be on the lorry thats for sure

john cumming Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 buckie, mebbe 150 Be a damm site more than that davie, between me and a member i spoke to today we will have 140 between us John

BLACK W F Posted August 2, 2018 Author Report Posted August 2, 2018 u can only go with 25 a crate for the next 2 races these crates are bigger than the old wooden crates
Dooheed 5 Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 Stuffing 30 Birds to a crate is Ridiculous Imo and boarding on cruelty especially with Young birds
johnnybundy Posted August 3, 2018 Report Posted August 3, 2018 Stuffing 30 Birds to a crate is Ridiculous Imo and boarding on cruelty especially with Young birds Can all the clubs have a ruling of 27 birds per basket there designed to have more birds in them I agree you don't want to overe crowed them but after the first two races there will be less birds then go back to normal

philg50 Posted August 3, 2018 Report Posted August 3, 2018 IMO ,what you are saying is there is going be 2000 birds on lorry ,= 25x80 crates so instead of guessing how much doos are going the race controller or Fed delagates should impose a bird limit on each member ,if on the event of numbers of doos not covering costs charge a levy on flying members just my opinion ,the weather will dictate if i put .
grdkeith Posted August 3, 2018 Report Posted August 3, 2018 Just measured the floor space of our old crates and it comes to 980 square inches, we regularly had 25 or more ybs in these for at least 20 years of use.Current crates measured from inside drinkers comes to 1225 square inches giving an increase of 25% .I doubt we will ever need to go much above 25 in any future race but the space is there if we need it.As requested many times in the past, please fed members leave Fed race posts for race info only,if anyone feels they want to be the decision maker on crate birdcage on a weekly basis give Raymond a call,I won't stand in your way
Mattydoos79 Posted August 4, 2018 Report Posted August 4, 2018 My opinion is people should stop moaning and enjoy the sport hehe have good race
