harky Posted July 22, 2018 Author Report Posted July 22, 2018 took them to shotts Tam, libbied then at 9.45 , had 5 before ten and then a couple more but nothing since , maybe when it gets lighter they will work in hopefully .
THE FIFER Posted July 22, 2018 Report Posted July 22, 2018 I think there is lots of training etc, going on and possible classing, I sit out side a lot and thats all you see is birds passing over sometimes in 2's and 3's but also batches, so they may head back home hopefully,
Adee1888 Posted July 22, 2018 Report Posted July 22, 2018 Took 60 last night got 1 after an hr then 1s up till 9 pm birds feathers missing cut with wires got a batch of 20 around 9.40 and 12 this morning birds of prey getting out of hand I be calling it a day after ybs iv spent thousand on stock to feed hawks gutted
bigjamie Posted July 22, 2018 Report Posted July 22, 2018 its not fair on the wee birds or our pockets the money we spend out on them to get bloody slaughtered by these birds of prey
philg50 Posted July 22, 2018 Report Posted July 22, 2018 took them to shotts Tam, libbied then at 9.45 , had 5 before ten and then a couple more but nothing since , maybe when it gets lighter they will work in hopefully .Why so late on their first toss ?
harky Posted July 22, 2018 Author Report Posted July 22, 2018 Got most back first thing this morning Why so late on their first toss ?
BIGPETE Posted July 22, 2018 Report Posted July 22, 2018 Why lib them so late on a first toss? You gave them a very small window of daylight to work back if they got lost or were full of flying and overshot. A nice early lib at least they have the time and opportunity to work back the same day.
flight fancy Posted July 22, 2018 Report Posted July 22, 2018 Hi I know the feeling,Harky, I lost 19 from SHOTTS road end,got 3 from the lads in Allanton, thanks Mr Dookit (rab),and the man round the corner sorry I forgot your name thanks lads yours in sport.Alex meikle.

Maybe your answer lies closer to home ! OMO.
philg50 Posted July 22, 2018 Report Posted July 22, 2018 Got most back first thing this morningGlad you got some back though
BIGPETE Posted July 22, 2018 Report Posted July 22, 2018 I’ve done it myself before, not that late but an afternoon toss and had a shocker. TonyC on here was the one who drilled it into me that early morning tosses are key with youngens. They will make mistakes and you gotta give them the best opportunity to get back.
Adee1888 Posted July 22, 2018 Report Posted July 22, 2018 Showman what planet are you on I took my birds 10 mile away don’t matter what time you toss at hawks every where
FLYING1967 Posted July 22, 2018 Report Posted July 22, 2018 It's all about learning and harkys doo's will be all the better for the night out that's just my opinion you no your going to get a bad one somewhere you just hope you get most them back or all
frankdooman jnr Posted July 23, 2018 Report Posted July 23, 2018 Too many are too quick to criticise instead of giving advice to help people out and even the self proclaimed experts make mistakes.I think the sport would be better off to help the new guys out rather than take to a public forum and knock the p*ss out this man .Chances are he had to work and that’s the only time me he could toss the Doos .If we don’t offer advice and support to new starts what hope do we have in twenty years time when all the old heads are pushing up the daisies
