border terrier lofts Posted July 4, 2017 Report Posted July 4, 2017 Total disaster again with less than 10 percent home after 2 days , birds hadn't much chance today as weather was against them .national racing at 500 -600 mls you need a good two day forecast.

Dont think you are going to get 100% clear all the way but a good start is a must. When i read the liberation notice on the SNFC website "they cleared the liberation site in one batch" didn't sound like they went in the right direction or maybe it just wasnt put up what direction they headed after they were released.Said it after Messac they need professional weather forecasters giving advice on the weather.

You 100 percent correct it's time they looked at two day forcast for channel racing like the previous race we need to try harder to get things right but unfortunately I feel there certain things that must be sorted out at agm

Novice Posted July 5, 2017 Report Posted July 5, 2017 It's worth noting that the Irish held till Tuesday due to fog in the channel and have 138 first day pigeons recorded.
easygaun Posted July 5, 2017 Report Posted July 5, 2017 It's worth noting that the Irish held till Tuesday due to fog in the channel and have 138 first day pigeons recorded.what was the size of the convoy?

Novice Posted July 5, 2017 Report Posted July 5, 2017 what was the size of the convoy? About 1000 more than us I think but they had a decent race.
border terrier lofts Posted July 5, 2017 Report Posted July 5, 2017 Looks like most of the snfc convoy didn't cross the channel, if they did you would think more pigeons would be home.

Just looked on their site robert it says holdover Monday due to low cloud and drizzle northern France to sennan cove . Looks as if they made a blunder liberating Monday . .

I would never have said so much but Tuesday seemed to be a much better racing day.Hindsight is a wonderful thing .
Jim hannah Posted July 5, 2017 Report Posted July 5, 2017 The north sect. never stood a chance of getting a bird, shocking,
bullcock Posted July 5, 2017 Report Posted July 5, 2017 The north sect. never stood a chance of getting a bird, shocking,Even before the lib , everyone knew if they liberated it was only catering for the elite small percentage that get through on the day. No consideration for the other 98% of the convoy!

No consideration for the other 98% of the convoy!Libbed at 5.45....what time were you going to lib? Or do you mean you would have libbed Tuesday? All with hindsight of course
b.massey Posted July 5, 2017 Report Posted July 5, 2017 Hindsight is wonderful Was not at the race But was it not possible for a Sunday Midday lib? If birds had arrived in plenty time that would have been maybe the sensible thing knowing no birds would be in on the night but least with the forecast that was there too see about the Tuesday rain it would have given all day Monday for birds to race That assuming Sunday midday weather across channel was ok to lib From what I see I don't think the rain on Tuesday was the bid issue as more would have got through once the rain cleared Did the majority of pigeons even make it far enough to be stopped by rain I do agree SNFC needs to move into this modern day technology world we have too and help from professionals on the weather forecasting
Jim hannah Posted July 5, 2017 Report Posted July 5, 2017 Its time the north sect. had a voice on the race control team.

bullcock Posted July 5, 2017 Report Posted July 5, 2017 Libbed at 5.45....what time were you going to lib? Or do you mean you would have libbed Tuesday? All with hindsight of courseI am referring to the fact the north of England was to be backed out, this was forcast so controller knew this, meaning that the bulk of the convoy never had a chance, but we liberated anyway.
scottym7 Posted July 5, 2017 Report Posted July 5, 2017 I was not at Alencon.Few things to considerShould the marking have been put back?If basketed on original set date would birds have got up on the Friday? If they are at race point and weather is good/clear then they go.
