Is there such a thing as pigeons that can fight off disease virusis bacteria and such with nothing but ther immune system.

ive been reading alot about natural products some top fancier use to keep pigeons in extreamly good health without the use of antibiotics which they say are detramental to the birds immune system other than sallmonella and worming.

im interested to see if there is anyone who use only natural products and has superiourly healthy birds that can fight off disease. are ther fanciers out there whos best birds have amazing immune sytems and never get sick.

Ave got a loft full of them without any products, natural or otherwise. If you want to know more about antibiotics and the Harm they cause go to antibioticguardian.co.uk and read it.

Have never treated in 11 years they must get over anything they get them selfs

If your doos picked up a serious infection that was killing them daily would you stand back and let it wipe out every bird in your dookit and start all over again?

Everything at some point needs some sort of medication imo even pigeons

Always amazed me that pigeon fancier on this site and I must add some of the top guys at our sport never give their pigeons anything. :emoticon-0136-giggle: . Every loft I have been in over the last thirty years has had some sort of medication be it right or wrong.. And I would add just as m/m says if a pigeon needs medication I don't see why that should be a problem :)

I think they mean the sh** about antibiotics used as a blanket treatment? you cannot use antibiotics that way, doctors don't tell you to take antibiotics twice a year, just in case....do they?

yep, but I think you know exactly what I mean?

Going to say this just once don't really give a .*expletive removed* what the top results guys say or post . Every athlete needs a health program end of . When racing my pigeons they will be tested by myself and given what ever they need . But with a four/ five week prevention program. I've never had a major problem. My pigeons just now get .*expletive removed* all but tomorrow morning when I go to my loft and one bird was showing signs of anything I would not hesitate to add something to the water. :peace-sign-258:

True ... not before etc. of course.

There are times, sadly in these days, that they need a little help. .... Unfortunately through our trying to gain a march. Listening to adverts etc. of MONEY makers etc. Then of course because one thinks it is needed to 'Keep Up'. with...!

We are destroying our birds, and pets, whilst listening to money making tripe. Incest breeding has an awful lot laid at it's door of course!

Antibiotics CAN'T prevent oat! Only allows a weakening of the constitution and causes further damage down the line when rendered useless.

Indeed DOCTORS warn against such silly actions.

And just what is meant when talking about pigeons to say 'Glad some on here are their doctor!  <_<

Pigeons aren't human, ... but how forever we hear such trash talk saying 'If you... YOU'! etc. I'm not a pigeon, far from it and as such it is ridiculous to compare.

Animals have their own Medicine box built in that serve to GOOD ... Hence it is, and should, only given help when needed ... Which we do, and not because 'He, whoever says so, but via a proper registered AVIAN Vet.

The life of a good racing pigeon is no more than 2 to 4 years hard racing gone are the days of lofts full of 2 3 4 year old for racing so to me the only way to race pigeons is to have them tested every 4 weeks when racing and before pairing up & if thay need something thay will get it life of a good racing pigeon is to short to worry about immune systems I would go that way with stock doos not racers but I would never treat blindly in any case

So good racers that go in to the stock loft haven't any call for a immune system... Hence won't pass any immunity on to their youngsters eh! There we go, the reason of a lack of immunity and constitution in one in a nut shell ... no wonder y/b losses are so great eh!
