johnc Posted May 19, 2016 Report Posted May 19, 2016 if you stay in a semi or close to next house youve no chance as now treated as fire arm you cant use it within a certain distance from a dwelling
peter pandy Posted May 19, 2016 Report Posted May 19, 2016 I honestly believe many of you guys are in for a disapointment if you think you can have a licence to shoot vermin in your garden especially if you live in a built up area. A firearms certificate is one of the hardest to obtain especially in Scotland after Dunblane and I have explained the reasons in a previous post. Go to "Airgun Licence Scotland BASC" on line and read frequent asked questions.

tommy bhoys Posted May 19, 2016 Report Posted May 19, 2016 ah well back to the bow and arrow thenall you need is permission from a local farmer for vermin control on there land think a gun cabinet will be required also im fcked they took my license aff me already
gulkie Posted May 19, 2016 Report Posted May 19, 2016 I believe the sum of £80 pounds was mentioned not sure if for 1year or 5years As Peter has said a lot of people are in for a shock ,an air gun cannot be discharged In a public place and that includes ur own garden ,I have a FAC for a full bore rifle And I still have to register for an air gun .

Guest bigda Posted May 19, 2016 Report Posted May 19, 2016 Air gun licence might be very hard to get, as it will give the police less to do. If. They support it. Would still like to apply for one although at £80 would anoy me more if they took it. And they all ready made the rule up, you can't get one in a built up area.

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted May 20, 2016 Report Posted May 20, 2016 If I had a couple of air guns I don't think I would be given any cvnt money to use them .As I think they would work just aswell without parting with cash the rules are a bit different in England and depend on the power of the rifle whether you need a license or not,if it is a fairly weak one you do not need a license but if it is above a certain power you need a license so anybody down here would probably just have a weak one so you do not need a license. Generally the ideal power level is just over 11 ft lb (15J). For an air rifle that is more powerful than 12 ft lb, (16.25J) you must have a firearm certificate.
