Does large birdage flatter to deceive?

ie Quality of competition or performance?

Or does the large area of the fed flatter to deceive :emoticon-0136-giggle:

In your opinion does that make it harder than smaller birdages bt with more quality?

I remember when first on this site and our hen topped the fed when someone on here asked how many birds were in race ! My answer was 350 ish to that the reply came back that did,nt mean sheet as the birdage was so low same hen was 1st fed 2nd sect 3rd open Snfc bovington 5500 birds also bred a 1st club winner before ybs all took ill and were disposed off, so George I don't think it makes any differance quality is quality.

Yeah that's what I mean ppl put too much emphasis on birdage imo

Personally I believe the number of Fanciers competing lends more credit to the winners, not necessarily the number of birds. Ave sent birds because they needed a race or time on the wing knowing fine well they wouldn't trouble the judge on the Saturday and am certain everybody will have done this. Only real reflection on birgade IMO is National racing because a higher percentage of the convoy are in it tae win it.

Apart from Lanarkshire is any Scottish Fed sendng more than 2,500 birds.

Pentland Fed send 3-4000b during the old bird racing out to the first inland national and the first 5 young bird races

Numbers of course play a part. In every Fed wether it be 500 or 5000 birds, there are a % of fanciers as john says will be sending to get the birds are race under their belt..etc... however 99% of they fanciers will have pools on certain birds ..so they are still in it to win it.. unless they like giving away free money to club mates.. it all comes down to % george... good..bad fanciers... good bad birds... higher the birdage the harder to win.. thats goes with any sport.
