West Of Scotland Amalgamation Of Racing Pigeon Federations

Clearly the lack of information is creating gossip which can't help the cause, im sure Glasgow are part of this project, but as a member I don't know what is happening and our race program doesn't mention any liberations with an amalgamation, we need information on what's happening.

This being the case, all fanciers should contact their Federation Committees and ask them, rather than bumping the keypad about it here. :)

Your fed couldn't agree on anything of note as i say, the amalgamation needs to be run central. No. From hill billy. Land

No for you to say how our fed is run, your opinion is worthless as are most of your comments on any given subject.

I always thought that this amalgamation was for convoying purposes only, for me that's all it should be then we wouldn't have to worry about distances or anything else, you could then get all the competition you would need by sending with the national of your choice IMO

That was also my opinion about this. Any future developments will be just that, in the future, once and if, the wrinkles can be sorted. :)

Surely it's the fed committees who are arranging to changes things behind the scenes who are duty bound to run it passed members or at the least inform them, if we are joint liberating with anyone it's not on our race program and I am entitled to know at the least so I can make decisions at basketing time on who to send.

At the last Glasgow AGM, the committee were authorised to finalise this, with the intention of joint conveying at Retford, Melton Mowbray and Peterborough.

Yes, it would be good if they informed the members of the outcome, but you should obtain more definitive information on the Glasgow website or by contacting Joe. :)

If we are joint convoying then, your right it should be at least on the website and it should have been highlighted on the race program sent out, I wasn't at the AGM, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't be informed.

And it's not my job to contact the secretary, if everyone called him his phone would be off the hook.

These guys are doing a good job trying to make this happen, but communications are King in all things, and the lack of it breeds rumors and gossip which has a negative impact on what they are trying to achieve.

Ayrshire Feds Race Programme was voted for on the premis that we would be Joint Convoying with Glasgow and or others from Retford on excluding the SNFC races. also I believe to the final 2 YB races where a joint race was supposidly going to be tried out, where we are at this stage is unknown to me , I dont know if federation officials have met again to further this aim.

I have asked the question on the shout box, but if there is no answer, ask Veronica to contact Joe. :)

Well lads I've heard that both Peterborough and Huntingdon have knocked back Lanarkshire for the do called Amal race ,although our fed has had no correspondence whatsoever with the mother ship , just what's been heard on the grapevine , how can any Amal get up and running with every one being treated like mushrooms . ......? Ps this is not anti Amal racing .

I'm not involved with it, so cannot comment, but I think at this stage there is just a loose grouping of Federation Reps coming together to talk now and then. If this is the case, it requires to be organised with a committee. :)

After all the crap getting banded about i think Lanarkshire should do our own thing and other feds should do theirs.

George, Lanarkshire doesn't have to be in any Amalgamation, the other Feds would be capable without Lanarkshire, but I thought the idea was to Amalgamate for joint liberations into a broad general area for the benefit of the pigeons and West of Scotland fanciers. :)

Didn't say once the other feds couldn't do it.

Someone should start a club called the west of Scotland amalgamation. Then invite fanciers to join with a membership fee. Then when the number are good apply to a fed for transportation, a fed that has been chosen at comittee level, this way the club could provide measurements to those who need them, decide on which races to be involved in and remove the issue of which controller does what. Simply duplication sheets can be done at club level and handed to the amalgamation secy? ?? No rocket science
