DBA421 Posted October 7, 2015 Report Posted October 7, 2015 Jont the boy in Scotland for changing battery and servicesJohn does a fantastic job, £30 including the postage back to the owner. Normally a 3 day return.
Kyleakin Lofts Posted October 7, 2015 Report Posted October 7, 2015 Be aware, this would have to be approved by your Union. The SHU have issued seals and approved this person to carry out this work.
BLACK W F Posted October 7, 2015 Report Posted October 7, 2015 NEHU and RPRA only unicorn can change the battery's or repair the clocks the same with the other company's that's their rules better off on T3
Walter swanston Posted October 7, 2015 Report Posted October 7, 2015 Unikon will service systems and replace batteries and charge the fancier quite highly. The other guy will do the same job more cheaply, it is not strictly accurate to say that the SHU recommend the independent guy as there is a proviso that the fancier must be aware that if anything should subsequently go wrong Unikondo not want to know.

Quite correct Walter, but the SHU do issue him with seals to use after his work is completed and as such they are authorising him to carry out this service and giving approval for the subsequent use of the clock. They stop short of recommending the service he provides because of the fact that Unikon would not entertain the system after it has been "tampered" with.

DBA421 Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 John has fixed systems that unicon have returned to the owners saying they were beyond repair and you need to buy a new one í ½í¸² Great guy to deal with and does a first class job í ½í±,This has occurred more than once. What UNIKON does not publicise is that the Base Station has a CR2032 Battery (230ma) and the Pocket Clock has a CR2450 Battery(560ma) and the Pocket Clock uses less current. I have had my Pocket Clock since 2000 and never had to replace the battery. To quote a written statement from UNIKON Q- What does it cost to replace a Battery. A- £20 UNIKON Belgische where charging 36EUROS for a battery change recently.
