i had a few show up last season .the biggest suprise was a cock that never returned from his only ever race , the first yb race in 2013 . great looking order , no stress marks . had him vaccinated along with the youngsters , he had 3 "trainers" with the yb races , 2 into a N.W.wind , i expected him to drop in wherever he had been , yet he came well each time. hoping he may do ok this season ?? :emoticon-0138-thinking:

Im afraid if they don't get up here within a day or two of a race they never do.

It's the same everywhere I always look out for some of my old favourites to turn up but they never do if they are not there on the day or second morning.

at our fed race from otterburn last year I was missing 3 yearlings

they all turned up from 7 to 10 days later looking the worse for wear

ive found that if you don't get them by the next evening you seem to get a few turn up

around the 10 day mark after they have built themselves up a bit from the fields

Somebody will have last years young birds turn up over the next few weeks, hard frost, not a lot of food in the fields and the call from nature to pair up will bring some home which with care and attention can be special birds. :partick-thistle-Crest:

Yup ur right m8, iv'e had a few birds come back between end of January and mid May. They have sometimes turned into very useful birds, in fact some have been some of the very best ive ever had and went on to score in National races and have been difficult to loose. ;) ;) ;)
