showman Posted February 3, 2015 Report Posted February 3, 2015 I have been thinking of making a bit of a donation of some sort to my own club for the 2015 season. We are a small rural club of only 7 members, and at present we race for neither trophies or prize money, which was the members idea to prevent any bad feelings over money! Within the 7 members there are 3 who are always to the fore, the rest of us are content to make up the numbers. Any ideas, where a little input from me could be best utilised by all ? I'm in a bit of a quandary as to how I can help, if at all, or say nothing and let the status quo.

philg50 Posted February 3, 2015 Report Posted February 3, 2015 i would approach local suppliers , especially whoever you get your corn from . local companies etc to buy a trophy for a specific race . ??A trophy yes but dont you think one of the top three flyers would pick this up ,hard to come up with something that would benifit all of the club members not just the few.
yeboah Posted February 3, 2015 Report Posted February 3, 2015 Give the club a Donation thus reducing each members joining Fees

harry h Posted February 3, 2015 Report Posted February 3, 2015 If you want to donate say £10 per race as a prize and get the members who want toparticipate in the race to pay a £1 each for club funds, the members pick a namefrom a hat ever week and if whoever's name you pick wins the race then you getthe £10 prize money the club gets the £1 that each member paid for club funds,so it might be the same 1,2 or 3 that wins the race every week, but not necessarilythe £10 prize money. (Don't ever forget it's only a bit of fun for club funds)
Tony C Posted February 3, 2015 Report Posted February 3, 2015 Enter pigeons into a one loft race to represent your club.
eastcoaster Posted February 3, 2015 Report Posted February 3, 2015 My previous club I got them some sponsor cash and sponsored £10 a race plus a bonus race for £50 , you put numbers 1/10 in hat and on basketing night draw from the hat a position in your club result that member gets the prize so you can be 10 th and win yourself the prize ! In your case make it a bag of feed as the bonus prize .

glencameron Posted February 3, 2015 Report Posted February 3, 2015 Friend of mine in a West Bromwich club has a funny coloured race for young birds. Each year they select an unusual colour say chocolate, pied etc and first home in a certain young bird race wins. Great leveller and good fun sourcing etc and often proves interest in the families as the colour is unusual .
