II have finally joined a club,THAT ALLOWS IT :)

Suppose it's down to a two horse race Bricon OR Unicon

Which one would you go for,??

There is a few going on the Ebay at present, 3 Unicon 1/2 without pocket clocks tho!!

Also they don't state how old they are.

And there is ALSO the Mega system? to consider aswell,

To many choices!!!

Thanks in Advance

. If you buy a system it your responsibility to get a club system , unless your club already has it ,so I would say find out what system your club mates use .then get the same .

As Stuart says, your starting point is to check which system or systems your club uses. Next check whether they are compatible with other systems via the universal port. Once you know this, you either buy the system or one of the systems used by your club or you buy the system of your choice and a universal cable for it.

If you use a different system from your club the clock setters then have to learn how to operate it as well, so check they would do this.

You should learn how to work your own system and, to help the club, do your best to learn all systems in use by its members, just as they should be doing the same. It is all about helping each other. :)

Got to feel sorry for the secretary who has to learn all those different computer programs whilst allocating the ets rings.

I have a Benzing G2 and find it really easy to work, very intuitive. Backup from Jim Savage is second to none. :)

At one club I plug into the Taurus system and at the other into the Unikon system. I have also used Bricon at central marking. :)

Benzing for sure. Jim first class for help and being available. Simple and very effective. All now bar one in one of my clubs ... Me too 9/10. Can't fault Jim. Comes round and does the clubs set up even here ... 300 miles or so.

Unikon once bought your forgoton. No after sales or help. Unless a Mate of Knight and a National winner ... otherwise dormant. 3/10 for ... I guess for selling them lol. Only one left in the three clubs I am in.

Bricon after sales not to bad with Mark Palmer 50 miles from me. Help is a long time coming sometimes ... But as he says he is so busy. 50 / 50 in the other club with Benzing now I am in. 6/10 I guess. Have dealt with the 3 and that is pretty much the same marking out of ten nigh by everyone who has seen them in action and dealt with.

I got shot of the top shot my Champ Unikon after using it once. Sold it for peanuts ... Best thing I ever done.

benzing in our club bar 2 wouldnt go by benzing price service and reliability unicon forget you after you buy and 60 pds cost every year for activation code. bricon in club a pain in the ar-- waiting to see if new club system comes as promised as one we have takes turns so BENZING for me from someone who has used all three above. if you have only used one system you have nothing to compare with so take advice from people who have used all systems club clock setters ect

Yep a very good and sensible post. Have used two and have dealings with Bricon ... Mark is a nice enough fellow. Came to the club to sale like ... takes time to get back to you ... I'd wager Jim / or his good wife will be there on the phone and very quick service. But above all it is on parr with any, and certainly better than most ... Believe the rings are down this year after holding the price for many...
