Your right mate but I feel due to the small convoy this race will be very challenging

birds should be brought back to kelso in the interest of next years racing 250 odd birds for a open race its no wonder there aint any prize money, as it now clear we need all the money we can get, to aid our Lanarkshire fed national members there 500 odd birds, to get hours on the wing, a suggest £20 per bird to these races to make up the short fall .emoticon-0138-thinking.gif

20 pound per bird you have lost it mate for someone to come on forum whom has plenty to say about racing birds when was the last time you sent to a race

THAT IS WHAT IS REQUIRED MATE, £20 WE ARE NOT made of money, to keep the show on the road, it is time big decisions where made, for all its members, and if you cant afford it well, cut your cloth to suit. I have sent to the first 6 young bird races next question emoticon-0126-nerd.gif

I have no time for dodgers WANTING emoticon-0126-nerd.gif EVERYTHING FOR NOTHING

bigda it is obvious that you cant make money in every race the big birdage early on should make up the difference imo

doing what we are doing is putting ourselves out the game with this distance chasing of young birds, we are at a critical level just now and next year the big birdage will not be there to allow the distance races to be funded we have about 3,000 young birds left as to get to the yearling races on top maybe another 1500 old birds giving us a total of birds in the Lanarkshire 4,500 max any one bad race from that lot and it will be a lean year, birds are not getting home and we have not bothered as two where the problem lies I would take a stab at it and would say our problem looks like to be only about 45-50 mile from home as have birds make it home with fresh blood on them and some that would only have been 15 mile out. this race that goes Sunday will not be a easy one and the winner from it will not mean anything if it is to go again to the national as racing pigeons, are now only as good as there last race. and are taken out the sky at will

Danny this race was always gonnae lose money it was said at the race meeting last year but it's what was wanted by the guys at the meeting (Me myself didnae vote for it) but i never held my hand up against it either if it loses money it should be put on the balance sheet to let us know race by race what was made and what was lost and let us all work out where we made money and were we lost it as last years balance sheet wasnae too clear but losing money in 1 race isnae the end of the fed...

yes would agree alf, but we have a problem that is going to finish us off as soon as the big bucks come into place to pay for other races, we will find out how many bed hoppers we have in our fed, there are a few using other feds coz they aint for democracy, so they can not be depended on, when asked to put there shoulder to the wheel.

Danny we were Bed Hoppers as you say as we sent 21 yb's to Alnwick with the south but had 20 away with Lanarkshire on the same day but if you say we are Bed hoppers i couldnae really give a fk as i will always support the fed and the guys running it but Alnwick should have suited our circumstances that week and that is all we cared about...
