I believe that the biggest majority of fanciers would have made the same desicion

To let the birds go .so well done Davie .

The prevailing West wind(Gusting between24/30mph) killed off the race. In future we should have something in place for youngsters ANYTHING ABOVE 10 mph Due West for youngsters should be held -over.

davie has done a great job the last few races have been bad with the west winds but yesterday the wind was very strong as gareth stated that was a tough one for the birds yesterday south lanarkshire got it tough from wetherby and they were up 3 hrs before our birds hit the sky and there a few of them waiting on birds aswell a lot of birds missing from both lanarkshire races yesterday

Jamie all I am saying is we need to put something in place to protect our controllers,as before the off we new what the outcome would be and it has a great commercial issue for the Fed in the Future.

yes i understand andy we knew the wind was to be strong and we also knew that today was to be a better day for birds racing we could have dalayed the basketing until yesterday and got a better race for today as the weather is better we have to look into this a bit better weather wise as our ybs have had it hard now with these west winds now for about a month now and dont kid ourselfs looking at the birdage the past few weeks the loses have been horendous for some fanciers yb racing is about schooling them not murdering them with these winds

10mph you would be lucky to get a race most weeks!! Doos have come back in strong winds before they must have been blootered yesterday.

Maybe a bit radical, probably impossible to go with 10mph but don't think that wind conditions are factored into the thoughts of the controllers before liberations, especially with YB's. Food for thought, after being a minor grade football referee for 20yrs, can't ever remember a game postponed due to strong winds. But can think of many games that were spoiled due to the strong winds. Equally the same with pigeon races,!!!!!!!!!!!! AW THE BESTemoticon-0138-thinking.gifemoticon-0138-thinking.gif
