dms5686 Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 Malcolm agree with what your saying about the east being flatter, however regards not being able to win a national if your doo comes from the east that really depends on where the race is being flown from, one of the most even Nats for a spread of top open prizes in recent times was flown from Liege in the east, I'm sure Delboy remembers it well, Ypres has also been good for thisI agree with you it would be a fairer playing field
Big Davie Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 Hawks everywhere the difference being coming up the east side is flatter than the west so your doo has a better chance of escaping from the hawk but if your doo homes from the east it wont win a national Catch 22 spot on Unless the nationals are out the east Liege etc expletive remove Delboy you must be a clairvoyant
frank-123 Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 To be honest looking from the outside I think the present Lanarkshire officials are doing a great job hope you would work with them to keep improving things Correct New transporter, website, twitter sponsored wagon, training twice a week, Result done quicker than ever race controller on the ball not afraid to call the shots. The members haven't had it so good.Think the feeling the last couple of years was give the west a go it hasn't quite worked out.
JohnQuinn Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 Am about as average as it comes and i put my west/east stats on here a while back and there was practically no difference in the numbers. If memory serves the east side was MARGINALLY in front but not enough to say one route was safer than the other. The problem only exists when fanciers forget why the Majority voted to change in the first place!!!!
Delboy Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 expletive remove Delboy you must be a clairvoyant I knew you would say that lol
Delboy Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 I would say, if ye are going to change to the east, do it with your ybs so they are on the ball for next year

Delboy Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 Ive always said in an unbias way that east is slightly better than west but only slightly. This is an unbias view as ive flown on both routes again this year.
walterboswell59 Posted June 2, 2014 Author Report Posted June 2, 2014 Ive always said in an unbias way that east is slightly better than west but only slightly. This is an unbias view as ive flown on both routes again this year.another thing im seeing on the west route dell is birds turn up days even weeks after the race and that was not happening on the east route for me and many i know when they went down on the east route we never heard of them again and another thing im seeing lots of sickness about and the guys are not seeing it
Delboy Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Got my last pigeon this morning, ive not lost any birds down the east from 3 races 160,190,240 mls.

geordie1234 Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 The LNRC didn't get it easy from Berwick at the weekend with a few empty perches What we gonny do next year go east then back west then east again fkn ridiculous stick to one route for a few years please I believe if we stick to a route you will see more west pigeons up the top of the result in the snfc East or west jst stick to one route

avante Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Been reading all your posts and all seem to to be relevant to one another I am new to this forum and it gives good in site to what frustrations pigeon mens pigeon fanciers have ,my own is that when my pigeons have been attacked be it east or west ,there never the same coming out of basket I have seen them go straight for cover or not come out at all ,they then take a longer time to home not race so my question is are they finished as racing pigeons or do I keep putting them through
Novice Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 The LNRC didn't get it easy from Berwick at the weekend with a few empty perches What we gonny do next year go east then back west then east again fkn ridiculous stick to one route for a few years please I believe if we stick to a route you will see more west pigeons up the top of the result in the snfc East or west jst stick to one route Absolutely correct. If a change of route is envisaged then the time to do so is with youngsters of the previous year. Ayrshire raced youngsters down the east last year then switched them to west this year. That, in my opinion, was ill conceived.
ALF Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Just pinpointed the last 3 races on Google earth along with this weeks race from upper heyford all in an almost straight line in the last 3 races I have lost 18 pigeons so wont be sending any to the fed race this week as I think our doos must be getting slaughtered coming on this line as I never lost a pigeon racing till we hit Middleton so I'll give upper heyford a miss this week I think
bigjamie Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 percy is having a field day with the lanarkshire birds the last few weeks alf the number of people ive spoken too that have had birds back busted up and no tails the poor birds have no chance with them bloody things

geordie1234 Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Uttoxeter middleton warwick has been 3 very tough races for the fed
