It's amazing, 12 months on and once again members are wanting to change route because of bad racing, last year down the east, this year down the west/center.

Have come to the conclusion that the racing we get now isn't going to get any better in the coming years, this due to peregrine attacks no matter were you liberate.

Hawks everywhere the difference being coming up the east side is flatter than the west so your doo has a better chance of escaping from the hawk but if your doo homes from the east it wont win a national Catch 22

Hi

Very true what you say but I think you missed one very

important fact

There is a lot more pigeon traffic on the East route

therefore stands to reason that Lanarkshire and its

Lanarkshire we are talking about CANNOT TAKE A BEATING EVERYWEEK

which we are doing on the west

Cheers

Just goes to show how birds are getting scattered by the falcon no matter where we race

I have in tonight with a falcon injury a NW bird

And a Dumbarton bird

Sure neither of them were down the west yesterday

Yet in Moffat Tonight

disagree with both of you:s at least we get better racing oot east gareth thinks there is no hills in the west birds are getting slaughtered in the cumbria hills .we are down this route for two reasons first is the officials are all national minded second is so wee mac diznae win :animatedpigeons:

Tommy the members voted for it, just as they will vote to go back east next year at the agm.

They also voted to go it alone instead of joining the SNFC this coming week another mad decision.

If you elect officials you should back them or take the job yourself don't see to many volunteers when it comes round to meetings but plenty experts that are not officials

i have said it for years the biggest population for perrigrines are in the hills in the west thats were they started from and have spread as we now no because they wer overcrowded ther an still are and always will be but still far less in the east as less hills were they thrive

Have to agree with that Frank, Buckingham / Upper Heyford on the same day approx 290 mls, Maidstone / Bedhampton on the same day approx 360 mls , then we go with the SNFC for the fed channel open race from Ypres in Belgium ( East ) after racing down the west route all season with the fed, for me its fe kin mental and very hard to find doos for these races and the other nationals, especially after some of the guttings we have had this year, these are just my own personal thoughts and are not aimed at the Lanarkshire fed officials

ypres is easy the best channel race at the moment so liege would be the next obvious move

Found a pair nesting near moffat a few years ago just 25yds from the M74 the nest must have been 20ft up on a rock face they can nest anywhere.

If you look on a map at the race points Lanarkshire and South Lanarkshire were at yesterday there not much difference in them there both about centre of the country so this east west thing doesn't come into it jmo

both :animatedpigeons:

To be honest looking from the outside I think the present Lanarkshire officials are doing a great job hope you would work with them to keep improving things

Malcolm agree with what your saying about the east being flatter, however regards not being able to win a national if your doo comes from the east that really depends on where the race is being flown from, one of the most even Nats for a spread of top open prizes in recent times was flown from Liege in the east, I'm sure Delboy remembers it well, Ypres has also been good for this
