thanks guys pity my picking was not as good as the birds there were 9 pair of yearlings sitting eggs the rest were spare cocks but in the same section to give the spare cocks a wee bit of incentive on friday aft noon i picked out 6 of my early bred young hens and put them in the section with the yearlings as there was no prize money in the fed i only entered the 9 pair that were sitting on eggs in yearling derby dont need to tell ye 1st two birds spare cocks and out the first six birds i got five were spare cocks not in the derby hows that for picking lol young karen and her dad jim must have thought i was a nut job every time i got a spare cock i banged my clip board off my head for being so dum kidded them but did not pool them but you cant pool them all thats how it goes my third bird was my second fancy so will see if it gets its money but this race has been dying a death pool wise in recent years sign of the times i guess
