Guest IB Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 RPRA has advised us that an Event is being held at Billericay on June 7th, and the race point is not available to us. The Management Committee decided today that the 1st Inland National will now be flown from Buckingham.
Guest JSD Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 I was at the agm and the vote was to move to Billiericay on the east as we had had some bad races from the west side. I would have thought that common sense would have been to go to the nearest lib site, but the race point we are going to is a short distance from where we were in the first place. Could some one please give me a good reason why this can be right.
frank-123 Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 I would say Buckingham was central. Very short race point for a first inland national though.
clockman Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 I would say Buckingham was central. Very short race point for a first inland national though. 320 miles to me,
frank-123 Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 290 to Blantyre from Buckingham Newbury was 325 and 360 to Dundee Not having a go sometimes the guys on the committee have their hands tied.
Guest JSD Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 The members at the agm voted against going to Buckingham and thats where we are going doesnt soundslike what was said and voted on makes any diffrence. Was nobody listening to what was voted on.

HOMER49 Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 I was at the agm too total joke committe need to take a good look at themselves like alot of other or organisations now THE MINORITYRULING THE MAJORITY HiWas also at the AGM my main purpose to vote for Billericaytake you mean the tails wagging the dogAbsolute disgraceCheersHomer 49
eastcoaster Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 Have to agree with most opinions that this race point was refused by the members so why is the committee going over the heads of the body of the members, also SNFC is turning into a joke with a nat under 300 mls to most This is my opinion only .
JADE Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 The obvious choice would have been Wanstead Flats if it is suitable for the size of convoy. There are quite a few of the committee on here so hopefully at least one of them will give us an explanation of the decision and the reasoning behind it and what the vote was if there was an alternative proposal
yeboah Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 Now now lads surely it cannae be that bad as it's the only race ye canny stick one hand in the North Sea If you google it still miles nearer east than west

stevie bannon Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 The rpra gave cheltenham as an alternative with only a ten mile difference surely we should have went to the closest available race point

Could some one please give me a good reason why this can be right.Surprised the management committee did not change the proposed date of Ypres to meet with their DEFEATED MANAGEMENT PROPOSAL at the AGM for the race programme. Yes I think commonsence should have been to go to a race point close to Billericay. John B
Guest IB Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 The RPRA gave us an alternative race point - Chelmsford, approx 10m NW of Billericay, 320m ? to Central Belt. Buckingham at 295m was put forward for the reasons that it was the Management Committee proposal at the AGM, and members would have already paid for measurements for it, (and Billericay). Although over 300 miles to the Central Belt, as per AGM wishes, Chelmsford would have required new measurements, at a further cost to the club. A vote was taken and it resulted in 8-7 for Buckingham.
Guest JSD Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 I am afraid that excuse does'nt cut it. The committee are going against the wishes of those who attended the AGM. As for the cost of being measured for Chelmsford the SNFC did'nt pay for the Buckingham measurements. I'm sure the members would not object to paying for a measurement from Chelmsford.

The committee is there to represent the views of the members and the preference of the members at the AGM was not to go to Buckingham. If Chelmsford is the nearest suitable racepoint that is what they should have decided without any need for a vote. I am quite prepared to pay 50p for my measurement
knoxjn Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 whats a bigger concern for me is this as already being spoken about on here with committee members unaware before the meeting so are we dealing with stuff going on behind the scenes again a total joke
Delboy Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 I think the committees try there best but sometimes , especially in the snfc , decisions are made for them without their consent.I think I remember the Cheltenham fiasco when the race controllers didn't know the birds were going to Cheltenham    the tails wagging the dog as someone said. Nevertheless, I would never slag the workers in our sport and hats off to them all for giving up so much time.

bullcock Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 If we are going to Buckingham in 4 weeks time how are the SNFC Committee planning on officially confirm this to ALL the members?Their is nothing on the web site and I don't buy the homing world or RP so do I get measurements for Billiracy or Buckingham? P.S. how many members aren't on PB who don't know this is happening? the clock is ticking. And personally we have been flying the first inland race from the middle of the country for years with terrible returns and the members voted to go east, I am personally disappointed we aren't staying on the line agreed, if we are going to this race point Huntingdon would have been a better choice much the same distance.
