Guest TAMMY_1 Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 Where can i get pmv vac i can get oil base but i want to get water need to get these birds done soon cant get water base pmv anywhere.do not think there is any around at the moment,we bought Nobivac at Blackpool as the Colombovac had a short expiry date and we want to do all our birds in October same as last year .it meant doing the young birds twice but it did them no harm.
Guest paulrstokes Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 sure it is not available during 2014
thomasd Posted March 29, 2014 Author Report Posted March 29, 2014 Been looking everywhere anyone know were i could get water base pmv
REDCHEQHEN Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 There is no water based PMV Vaccine at the moment (and there won't be for some time as production stopped months ago by Colombovac) The only one you can get is Nobivac - the oil based vaccine If these are your old birds then you cannot fly them for atleast 2 weeks following the day of their vaccination
walterboswell59 Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Been looking everywhere anyone know were i could get water base pmvyou cant get it m8 the only water based one i know is columbo vac and thats off the market till the end of the year as the company that make it was moving its business to a different country or something dont know of any other water based vaccine you can buy in britain it was well documented that columbo vac would be off the market till late in the season hope this explains m8

thomasd Posted March 29, 2014 Author Report Posted March 29, 2014 Yes racing starts 2-3 week of april so would oil base be ok just i was told water base gets into there system faster.
frankdooman Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 The rule is 2 weeks before racing but if they are covered by last years jag u could stagger the birds your racing just get the nobivac
REDCHEQHEN Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 You cant fly them for 2 weeks ,do you mean race them. They shouldn't be mixed with other birds - fly / race / train - whatever you want to call it.......that's atleast 2 weeks - our racing (UNC) started today with an open race All birds in the UNC Had to be vaccinated by 1st of March - or face a one month 'ban'
walterboswell59 Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 it tells you on the leaflet of all pm vacines birds should not have liberty for 14 days after vacination no contact with other birds redcheqhen is correct glad some organisations are now taking heed of this at last ive been saying this for almost 2years on here your birds need to be vacinated at least 14 days before you start training or mixing with other peoples birds even if there birds have been vacinated
steff30 Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Where can i get pmv vac i can get oil base but i want to get water need to get these birds done soon cant get water base pmv anywhere.Check this site M8 http://pigeons.mercasystems.com/index.php/vaccines-for-pigeon?SID=mi1ovgkdktv675pepn6qttcm02
Guest IB Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Check this site M8 http://pigeons.mercasystems.com/index.php/vaccines-for-pigeon?SID=mi1ovgkdktv675pepn6qttcm02 An important reminder - the only PMV vaccines authorised for use in pigeons in Britain are Nobilis (oil-based) and Colombovac (water-based). Colombovac is again off the market, so the only one available for use just now is Nobilis. The vaccines are very different so you need to read the leaflet that comes with it.
eastcoaster Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 The word nobivac use is preferably so it is not a must , but mine were all done with ybs in 2013 so are still covered . Personally think we are all getting ripped off and should not be jag n them at all .jmo

I thought Nobivac & Colombovac both used La Sota strain of PMV-1. I haven't used Nobilis for a while but the strain used now appears to have changed, P201, can't say if that's the same or different from La Sota.
Blue Chequer Pied Posted March 30, 2014 Report Posted March 30, 2014 Belgica De Weerd have vaccine available

This database isn't very user-friendly, but it is the list of all DEFRA-approved medicines for use in the in UK. There is an 'A to Z', but if you are looking for e.g. a product name starting with 'P' it looks like you need to click on P then scroll through the pages till you find it. If it's not listed, it's not authorised for use here. http://www.vmd.defra.gov.uk/ProductInformationDatabase/
