Rooster J. Cogburn Posted February 5, 2014 Author Report Posted February 5, 2014 cant believe the amount of prize money that was flown for, better than a lot of todays Just had a wee look on the inflation calculator and the bird that was 10th Open won the equivalent of £11,622 in today's money
blucock Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 cant believe the amount of prize money that was flown for, better than a lot of todays They actually had a gamble on their doos then - todays equivalent would be more like £2 £3 £5 £10 £20 £30 £50 pooling two doos through the card would just about buy yo a computer game for the wean. But ask fanciers for thruppence on birdage and they're chucking toys everywhere mate. In that sense we're light years behind the English and continentals except for at big birdage National races where you can still win a bit more than a weeks wages if you happen to win it and bet on it Baz Great to see some very famous names on the original post tho
andy Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 The 10th Open winner could have been with the 7th Open? Naw canny agree wi that Lewis 2 flaps and a glide just like 1st and 2nd no together, (2nd Batch)or bad traps!
