Walter swanston Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 Yeah they like to grab a doo and wrestle a rubber off its leg.The pigeons love it I bet and that makes them "real" pigeon fanciers

Atb Real touchy subject this one Ghostrider etc I'm afraid. I don't really understand why it is so type of thing. The best thing I could say on your behalf is, at least you have half a brain & fully understand the many benefits of using the Electronic clocking system I suspect.Enjoy.
paddymac Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 Its the same arguements and excuses everywhere in most clubs Ghostrider and it usually comes from the older members who don't like change and haven't a progressive bone in their body through the fear of the change and listening to the stories about cheating with pads being placed everywhere on race days. Unfortunately looks like you have a job on your hands convincing your lot so good luck on your venture and hopefully something will click the switch and put on the light in their heads and make them see sense. By the way I have an ETS system (tipes) for over 2 years now and it is still sitting in the original box in the house as I haven't got around to getting it set up yet
Roland Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 Can't stop you using it. Learn to set it up and the sec / club members will be only too pleased to watch and make sure it is working and above board. ... In case you could rig it up to cheat lol. Others will quickly follow suit, after seeing the benefits and times and worked save marking night. etc. etc. Am in three clubs. 2 can use one don't want it and have a 'Gentleman's agreement' that they won't use it. I wrote and told them all exactly what is what. Yes I would tell then to stuff it and use it - have 3 or 4 others use it on the South Rd with me - But reason I don't is that they made concessions for me and the radious to let me in their club to fly North. Think it wouldn't sit right with me due to that fact"! Else I would and hang them.

Else I would and hang them.I'm not a young fancier but I have ETS and it is great the guys that don't want the system are living in the Dark ages ,I believe it keeps a lot of old fanciers in our sport as they are not fit ,or have ill health, who would Have given up,but for the ETS ,Me for one.why shouldn't pigeon sport move with times .as for cheating load Of cr-p only an excuse if fanciers want to cheat they will find a way.

Atb to me it seems like some are scared of change which is understandable , many ppl are just not pc minded hence the saying ( thats the way its always been), our members are all on it i think, i couple had reservations about the system but since using it they have said its the way forward, i dont mind either way which system i use, using ets but still have 2 stb clocks in the house which are 3 way tested in case its needed john
Guest strapper Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 i think you have to look at it from both sides...all you that have ets how many of you are moaning about those that want to stay on clocks instead of ets...so how are any of you any different when you moan about them? and how can anyone moan about catching birds when it was good enough for anyone b4 ets. myself i use a t3 clock but i dont mind anyone racing against me using ets...if their bird is clocked b4 mine then that bird is better then mine. i think we all have to respect each others views and what system they choose to race on or with.
tyson Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 agree dosent matter what clocking system you use the bird still has to be there the advantage ets has over manual clocks is in the trapping on ets when pigeon hits the trap its clocked where as manual clocking you have to get bird in and catch it to clock it in all time wasted against someone useing ets
ghostrider Posted January 30, 2014 Author Report Posted January 30, 2014 I Respect their views, and they can use what system they like! T3 or whatever!!Same should be shown to US wanting to go on ETS.what is the problem.
Roland Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 I don't know about moaning if some in the club want to stick to manual. I offered 200 sec per birds on all arrivals and with the utmost happiness. I believe that a pigeon in a fast race can be a quarter of a mile behind and still beat a manual clocker easierly. 1760 means 15 secs. Not interested that with the Two can do it quicker. T3 or whatever. Another great boost is the birds won't / don't get trap shy. If ill etc. can set it up the night before and have a lay in etc. Plus many other boons. Draw back of course is cost, especially for a young man with mortgage and raising kids now a days.
greenlands Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 I was at my mates a couple of seasons ago waiting for his birds to arrive,he got two together both trapped through an open door, there was 13 seconds between them in the clock (T3), alright both of us aren't the healthiest and a younger/fitter person might have been faster. Both of us now use ETS.
ovy1255 Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 ghostrider do you win much in your club? does it matter to you if you are omitted from the result. do you know how to assign rings to your birds? have you got a club master with your ets? mark your birds with ets befor you go to club and print basket sheet. when you go to club let them rubber your birds but give them basket list with your pools on. use manual clock for first bird or pool bird and read off before you go to club with electronics--just for your records. if you have to basket for special races at fed hq --can you use ets for these races where they are read off at fed? let them see you are useing it regardless--and show them your printoffs. you must be prepared to do all pc work. use your knowledge of pc to show what can be done---start by doing distance sheets for all members.ring lists for club or fed --pinted and laminated. prize cards for last weeks race table for points for season to hang in basket hut. will assist in any way i can and talk you through things that might bring your club to accept technology. from little acorns. ARE YOU COMPUTOR LITERATE? DO YOU HAVE A PRINTER? DO YOU HAVE A LAMINATER? prize cards can be done very easily on your pc if you have microsoft office.
Lennut Tar Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 simple prize card- Way to go Ovy One could say !!!!!!!!! a man who has seen the light/future.Enjoy.

frank-123 Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 Thought all that negative stuff had died off most guys around here use it with no problems.
