geordie1234 Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 What do you treat for over the coarse of the winter or in the lead up to pairing up?
showman Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 Don't really 'treat' for anything over the winter, just a build up with different herbs, oils etc. to help bring them into breeding condition.
walterboswell59 Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 nothing for me george unless i see a problem m8 food and water till i pair them when sit i treat for canker and cocci then again week before racing starts
Delboy Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 Treat only with the wheelie in the winter.Im always looking to make space. Its the time to get the immune system kicking in and any that don't cope can find food elsewhere if ye know what I mean.
andy Burgess Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 no treatment as such here . although due to a "lockdown" over Winter I do give plenty of seed during the moult , with occasional vitamins in the water , a tea blend now and then .oh and greens when I have them
William Reid Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 Absolutely nothing during the winter.when birds are not in contact with other birds you should not have any problems Geordie.but during the closed season any birds that showed weakness would be removed from the loft .

Kyleakin Lofts Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 No treatments at any time if possible. I intend to learn how to work a microscope so I can have an inkling if there is any problems, then after a professional test to confirm my findings I would treat accordingly. Once I think I have learned enough I may omit the professional test.
