blucock Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 Without a doubt a great pigeon to Lindsay , in a west wind. To boot , ps you could have posted, l.cowan 15.40 Saltcoats . I thought the same as Gareth that it was yours , would have been nice eh ? if only! Hopefully the Ayrshire boys will get another good one in the Gold Cup - am not going to speculate with a name - wish all the west section lads luck!
K J Young Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 Who are the convoyers for Alencon Kenny and were they the same guys at Maidstone. ps. hotrod Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 if only! Hopefully the Ayrshire boys will get another good one in the Gold Cup - am not going to speculate with a name - wish all the west section lads luck! You Ayrshire boys have had enough this year after Ricky and now Lindsay getting a good yin , time for some one further up the coast to time a good un .lol
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 it doesn't warrant an answer .... 15.40 Saltcoats - where did it say it was MY doo? Why would I ever try to claim someone elses time? I was simply informing of the birds location and time. I didn't even see Gareth's post until late on last night. Never mind... Yes, Lindsay's dad would be proud - imo close to the best pigeon in the race on the day - outstanding 1,2 for T Blair and the Saltcoats doo as good a performance in my eyes.Sorry Baz, i assumed it was yours that you posted the time for. I would agree with you about Lindsays doo, right up there next to Tams.
Delboy Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 Hi Derek, the convoyers at alencon are myself and rab Baird . At maidstone again myself, rab Baird and John Mccord . Thanks for the coments. expletive remove, over worked lads, good luck
Novice Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 I am almost certain Lindsay lives in Ardrossan does he not?
joshua Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 if only! Hopefully the Ayrshire boys will get another good one in the Gold Cup - am not going to speculate with a name - wish all the west section lads luck!would'nt be surprised Baz,the guys that are sending are all capable.
Guest bigda Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 The central transporter that i had at maidstone has an 500 litre water tank which was emptyied and filled 4 times over the weekend. Now am not saying that the birds drank all that water , wé are there to look after the birds , as the saying goes don,t tell yer maw how ta suck eggs. IMO , wé are all to blâme , most of the yearlings on the transporter would have never had à holdover before . And it does,nt matter which lorries that are used this problem will occur.I was told by an ayrshire member last year when his birds were bought back from carenten after 4 days that They were in wonderfull condition , so i have nothing against geraly transportation. But They were brought back . As for personal gain . I personally have taken 25 days holiday from my work , as i am previlaged to be asked to be one of the SNFC convoyers . Ps the birds at alencon are looking tremendous. well your argument don't hold up mate, as it was older doos that suffered the mostand for by as you said yours was not the artic lorry with the blue drinkers for these bird to be late must have been a watering issue, they went down for a drink hence the reason they are late, most of them birds had good race times going into that race, as they did not have hold overs and the demand on water was not as severe. water is the main thing there has been loads of bad racing with the national inland so i wouldn't be sticking my chest out till there was improvements on returns

Ps the birds at alencon are looking tremendous.Nail on the head kenny a lot of birds not just yearlings would not have had a hold over as some feds dont basket on bad forecaste so birds only in basket from 8 pm till 6am lib , mostly over hours of darkness so they can cope with no water and prob a lot dont look for it in that period , come to there first holdover and they dont know here to find the drinker s to drink for the first day or so they will be going down hill straight away and after 6 days will deffo be struggling even if they have managed to get a drink after a few days they wont recover properly to race . I personnaly dont blame convoyers for this but after 6 days i think theyv should have been moved before hand to attain a libb . Is there any truth in the matter muted a clock station that after lib and circling around a 1000 birds all landed in a nearby feild where most remained .

blue pied Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 who's truck where you in then, going down for a drink is wrong in national racing, the race was a 8-9 hour race so why make excuses for going down for a drink, that is the problem .could you run 3 or 4 hours without going for a drink?

shasha Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 well to me its a joke and it must be close to a welfare issue.
andy Burgess Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 who's truck where you in then, going down for a drink is wrong in national racing, the race was a 8-9 hour race so why make excuses for going down for a drink, that is the problem .truck ? = certainly not the same as your,s that,s for sure . down for a drink is wrong ?? = how ? it was my pigeons choice to do so , don't decry "ma doo" I love them dearly , if anyone is to blame it,s me for not basket training him , the next 3 ? they didn't go down ?? whats the answer there ?
Guest bigda Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 its not Kenny Youngs job to basket train anyones pigeons for them.the convoyers should be sticking their chest out, they do a grand job imo. when the baskets used, ain't up to what is required for a long stay that is when problems occur. this happened last year also, and the year before that.

The answer is Andy, racing birds is hard enough without putting up with this sh++e!!!!!

I believe in all honesty ,we as a fancier need to look to ourselves first for any answers ,before any other reason .will chat again about it pal. well done on your timing .
