Just phoned D Bald about a few wee issues I am having with my ETS (my first year with it)

 

He was saying he is no longer anything to do with Unikon. Anyone know if there is other reps or was it only Mr Bald

would not know where to start mate

 

Brand new to it and just wanting taught a few things. I think I need to speak to unikon to get discs and things. Am only member in club with ETS and base station is asking for activation code. Will hopefully get a chance to see a local club ets clock setter to see whats the ins and outs

Speak to unikon for your activation code and all documentation that you require to run it. Is your club set up to take your ets?

Yeah a member flew ETS last year but no longer have it. All club stuff is there but I need discs and things for laptop so I will send for discs

if someone in your club had it last year is there not another member who could advise you. if the club has the equipment you should only need the activation code

I'm sure every club needs a new code each year ,think its to keep an eye on the base stations which belong to unicon .there must be a computer with the stuff on it if a guy used this last year , contact unicon. For code and off you go .ps ask green grass on here he's well clued up on ets. And a good guy into the bargain . Over weight yes but a good guy still hehe .sorry Karl

If you go onto pigeon-ets which is unikons site, it has all the downloads and information that you require to get up and running. It will save you phone calls, and its always to hand for you to look up for help.

 

1. You firstly need a computer to run it.

2. You need the manager to store your info.

3. You need to input all your personal info in the manager.

4. You need to synchronise your pocket clock.

5. Rings need be assigned for your birds.

6. And away you go.

 

Can the guy that you got it from not help you out.

 

Failing that, just fire the questions up here, and people will help u out

If your Club is using East Coast Software then you can do ring assignment through that as well as race downloads. The Base Station normally belongs to the Club and will have a registered user, whoever used it last year had to get an activation code, so you will need to find the deatils of the registration. That person would have received an activation code by Email early this year. Someone, other than the previous owner, in your Club must have the information required, usually the Secretary.

Much appreciated guys. I don't have a cable to run from club base to my laptop so that's first problem. I have down loaded all the stuff from unikon web site. I will phone for an activation code and once I find out what cable I need I'll go buy one! Now I have down loaded the stuff seems easier as I was proper confused last night

Dont get stressed, but thats easier said than done, until you get the hang of things. Theres plenty of help here, as you have seen already. The cable that you are looking for, is a USB TO 9 PIN, which attaches to the cable that fits to your base station, ours was black in colour.

Someone in your Club must have the cable, Unikon do not loan Club bases to individuals only to clubs and the cable would have been part of that equipment. All Club equipment remains the property of Unikon. When you contact Unikon they will give you the previous contact details and you should be able to chase up what you need.

When you contact Unikon for an activation code make sure you have the system powered up, they will ask for some details so make sure you have both the marker & base registration numbers to hand. Considering this system was in use last year I feel someone is slow in coming forward unless the persons concerned have left the Club.

P/m The base station belongs to Unikon NOT YOU CLUB

The cable you need is a DB9 female to Female from Unikon price £16

+ p/p and Vat

You also need a DB9 male to USB ebay £4/5 called a usb serial converter

The reason I say from Unikon with the DB9 female to female is they do a

sneeky cross over and not straight 1 to 1 ect

Make sure the DB9 to Usb has a disc supplied

Been through this last week and it works

homer do you know of any reason you cant remove bottom of your own base station for a look see

would it be possible to read an ETS clock with the electricity that our wee club house runs on comes from a small generator.it runs a strip light and a small club computer.or would it need to be read of mains electricity.

Yes there is a micro type switch installed

Open it and you will need to re program the motherboard

In Carluke club a member opened the base station

and on connection it there was nothing on the screen

another member had mice chew the back of the base

station but my relationship with Unikon through

D Bald and Darrel at Unikon both units where repaired

get a biger generator out of ebay for £200 will give to heating the lot

 

We run our ets, computer, printer and a striplight off a generator no problem but make sure you use a sure protector for pluggin you equipment.

sorry but you are not correct in all cases alec

 

my club got a lottery grant and included in it

was a club basestation, well, and what cables etc

 

as we already had these systems from unikon on loan

we kept them and they kept the ones we purchased
