greenlands
First time this season with ETS.Young birds. I've made a set up with the bobs and fitting fastened to the sliding door,I've made the top out of perspex,so when the youngens enter it's not to dark and also doesn't block any sun from getting into the loft.Do you think this will be OK ?.For the old birds,I cut the dowels in the corridor sliding door and fitted bobs.OK ?. andy Burgess
i struggled to find a way to build mine ,and ended up putting sputniks on ,which i was never keen on ,but looks ok and works well . i am sure yours will work well too Lindsay ,but at the risk of offending you , and i hope i dont ,it looks bulky , and awkward . myself i would try and come up with something at waist hieght and opened out for them to land on before entering ? greenlands
Hi Andy,I put it at a lower height so when they land on the slabs in front of the loft they can more or less walk right in.This is it in the open position. Why not put the bobs on the front and not need the box?
greenlands
I've found that when doing that with the old birds they tend to stand a while before going through the bobs, the way I have it they will stand on the sensor.I hope ? greenlands
The pads in the loft and not on a landing board.I see there is a RPRA meeting this week to alter the rules again.

Unless they change the rules at present the bird has to be confined, trapped, before timing
andy Burgess
Why not put the bobs on the front and not need the box?ive seen the same ,with the pad in a box and hinged to drop down and allow entry and time the birds I've found that when doing that with the old birds they tend to stand a while before going through the bobs, the way I have it they will stand on the sensor.I hope ?if thats the case with the old , i would encourage to trap a little quicker .i can see a problem maybe ,regarding the fact the birds wont be confined at timing stage Lindsay .? Very nice Lindsay, just an idea for you mate, is there any way that you can put the bob wires up to let them get a feeling they arent danger to them when entering the loft. cemetary
Lindsay, this is what i have done when letting them out for a coup of times, just to get the use of it, when its feeding time i drop the bob wires. Andy, this is what ave made mate, it fits right into my sputnik, i close of the 2out holes so they hit the pad on entrance to the sputniks, and you can alos move it to another section no problem. Just an idea for yous both.

Henrik
Rule says pads must be within the confines of the loft, therefore your traps are fine as the pads are within your loft
