Always nice to get a first, thanks for comments. Ended up a tough race, with mixed returns we got another one on monday morning, taking us to 5/6. Well done to all that timed in. Also well done to gareth and his team.

Better idea John why no change the national to Stafford and give the west boys a chance ?

Perhaps a semi national SNFC race from Stafford for the west region and south region together.

As per the norm, west wind forcast for the young bird national, west will be lucky if there is a doo in the first 150 open positions.

Well done in putting it together Gareth,Would be excellent next year also a yearling race from 300mls or an any age which would include a yearling derby with a special 2 bird nom lets put some idea's together that is fair for all and get the officials to sort out the finer details and in the meantime spend the winter clearing the route of snow :emoticon-0127-lipssealed:

The fairest way to race pigeons is with a breaking point, but nobody wants it fair, thats why it wont happen. With a breaking point and a fatigue factor formula implemented, you wouldnt have sections, you would be pooling against everyone in the race.FAIRNESS, NOT PART OF THE PIGEON SPORT im afraid so it cant happen.

Agree 100% with a breaking point Derek,in our federation if say we used longtown as a breaking point it would not make any difference to me as i race north into moffat but it would make a hell of a difference to the dumfries and especially the dalbeattie and castle douglas fanciers who at present have no chance on saturdays unless it is very strong east suggested it once at committee meeting and if looks could kill as you say it wont happen but it should ,sure my friends in ireland have been doing this at club level for years .

Breaking point fair enuff but a fatigue formula would have to be summit special, distance and wind strength together with weather conditions?? hard yin that? Weather diffo yin side to the other or North an south? could that be factored in? I doubt it!

All conditions would be taking into consideration re. the fatigue factor.Quite easy with the technology available to us nowadays.A simple mathematical formula applied to the different weather conditions.Bobs yer aunty. This would stop all the stupid childish bickering about who has the best bird in a race, what the result read would be the accurate account of the race.I especially feel sorry for the Solway boys nowadays because there winning pigeons dont get the recognition they are sometimes due simply because they fly shorter. There are champion pigeons everywhere and the breaking point/ fatigue factor formula would indicate this.Anyway, its all pie in the sky because stupidly enough, most pigeon men dont want it fair because they would be found out.

told you before, get a boat go to the top of nothern Ireland say 400 mile west out at sea with west in the wind, and ever fancier has got his true measure and that is the fairest race we would ever have. boat hire would not be that much more than a ferry crossing to a local fisher man
