Guest pigeonboyno1 Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 This is 1 of the baskets we received out of the transporter tonight and it is a totally disgrace of this condition.
geordie1234 Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 I saw one tonight that was tie wrapped together it was a complete joke
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 We in Larkhall get all the baskets that have to be repaired before they go to strathaven, 100 every year, it works out that its a 4 year cycle for repairing each basket. 20.00 each time plus materials. Lanarkshire money is getting pissed up against a wall.
Guest pigeonboyno1 Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 Also when i was cleaning out the baskets the amount of leaves and other loose things in the baskets it was terrible what roads does transporter drive on.
Guest bigda Posted August 11, 2012 Report Posted August 11, 2012 i think we should approach alexander's of falkirk to design 2 lift of units, 2 types that would piggy back onto 2 x 7.5 ton flat beds trucks with this design we could hire the 2 trucks for only 6 months of the year not that costly think its about 200 each per weekget the basket designed to suit and make them 13 inch in height as the normal ones are only about 11inch with the 2 bodies that are a solid unit lift of lift on we can put into storage or they can stay out on the trucks for the 6months if they are made with aluminum no probs and on the day we use them we get then lifted on by a hi ab all buckled down and away we go we could get them made for about £40,000 each there are loads of fabractors out there begging for work

And why don't you go to AGM's and put your ideas forward there instead of telling the world and not Lanarkshire federation officials at the proper meetings????
Guest pigeonboyno1 Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 More photos of the baskets Another 2 photos, total disgrace
frank-123 Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 Hopefully the fed will move forward. It will take some hard work over the winter but am sure they could be up and running for you guys next season. The birds come first you might have to dig deep am sure it would be worth it.

It will take some hard work over the winter but am sure they could be up and running for you guys next season. The birds come first you might have to dig deep am sure it would be worth it.Dig deep, lol, its amazing that fanciers would rather spend money in purchasing new stock or young birds to race rather than spending money on baskets and transportation that's fit for racing pigeons. Here's hoping there's a change of heart in time for next season.
Guest bigda Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 at 40k each we do not need to dig deep we have enough in the bank getting the design done would cost about £300 or free if we gave it out to tender
Guest bigda Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 our lift of trailer could look like this in side, and be much higher 7 -8 baskets high all aluminium http://www.daviswelding.com/pigeon.photos.56crate.bumperpull.htm
Delboy Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 Danny, get on yer transport committee and do something about it.*expletive removed* no use speeling on here.Ive never seen baskets like that in my life, *expletive removed* disgrace, but im sure they will be replaced soon.
ALF Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 I think the last time a transport committee at our AGM Danny was on it but dont know if they ever had any meetings or not????
Guest bigda Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 I think the last time a transport committee at our AGM Danny was on it but dont know if they ever had any meetings or not???? you are right alf, but the first hurdle that what was placed in front of me was and i quote hope you are not looking for money as the money is invested in an account that cant be touched for 3 years, there you go heard it here first i don't know if this is still the case but its up to all the members to speak up.
airdrie2 Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 is there not a rule in the fed book which states that ex amount at the end of each year gets kept as a runing fund and the rest gets put into a transport fund ?
Guest bigda Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 is there not a rule in the fed book which states that ex amount at the end of each year gets kept as a runing fund and the rest gets put into a transport fund ? you ask them have they got the money at hand, and you will be told its invested and the only way we can get it out is to call for it to get canceled, and that could take 30-60- days not sure, but i do know this, this transporter can be getting made just now if we all say we want it, i prefer the lift of lift on type, made to suit and it will not cause us any aggroand it should be a limited maintenance, as you know we waste over £7 grand each year on Baskets Mots and TYRES.
Guest bigda Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 how many of the lanarkshire men would like the inside of there lift of unit with 7 rows of baskets high crates made 13" in head hight all made with aliminium a rigid unit that can get buckeled down on a large flat bed truck 7.5 this would take 2,600 birds and would cost 40k each to make as i said before just hire 2 flat bed truck each year no worry about mot or anything or insurance
Delboy Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 I think an antibacterial fluid would have to be used in communual drinkers Danny.
Guest bigda Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 I think an antibacterial fluid would have to be used in communual drinkers Danny. 3 smaller tanks with 1 milton tab in each enough water for 3 feeds
peter pandy Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 You must not use Milton on stainless steel as it has a corrosion affect. Dr Lynch would be able to inform you better than I.
Guest bigda Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 You must not use Milton on stainless steel as it has a corrosion affect. Dr Lynch would be able to inform you better than I. what about in aluminium or make the drinkers out of pvc
HOMER49 Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 I think the last time a transport committee at our AGM Danny was on it but dont know if they ever had any meetings or not???? Hi AlanIn one word NOTo Vince Hendries credit he tried to move the fedforward and purchase transportersBut to be truthful the committee could not agreewhich type of transport to purchaseGareth Rankin did a lot of work providing dataon various types but that was as far as it gotCheersHomer 49
Guest bigda Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 looks like we will have to stand on there hand to make it open to get at the purse strings do we really want a new transporter, or a fed split there is talk of some members joining the south lanarkshire on a permanent basis
