sapper756 Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 Do you send your whole young bird team to the first young bird race of the season, or do you split your team, and keep some back for the next race?If so, why? THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCKhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/animatedpigeons.gif
ALF Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 I'll never send all my yb's to the same race been skelped 2 or 3 times doing it in the past so wont let it happen again i plan to send 25-30 of my older yb team (53) this week as trainers all going well.Half of my 2nd team are going for their 1st toss this morning from 6 mls on my way to train the older lot fae Meldons
PIGEON_MAN Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 Everything thats fit enough to go I send to the first race, got a few thats had a few bad training tosses, injuries, hawked etc so these will go if right when we drop back to the shortest race again in about 4 weeks.
andy Burgess Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 sent 16 to the first race , had 30 at home ,will send a lot more this week ,and depending on following weeks weather ,will send majority again ,will start to keep some back after that (for the future) .with a few races under there belt that should be enough education.like ALF have also been "skelped" before
PATTY BHOY Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 I`ll be sending 5 older birds, theres 36 in the loft but am builduing a team so just try the 5 to start with.
Tony C Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 Mine either all go (barring injured) or all stay at home.
Guest pigeongirl Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 I usually send about half to first race and then others next week as same racepoint.
yeboah Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 Sent 40 of the 56 to first race ,got scudded 15-40,No problems with there health and fitness to good perhaps think they just overshot as none have worked in and none reported ,have trained all that is left this week from 30 + miles and they are heading straight for home without even giving a circle if they can hold this condition i am more than confident in the birds capabilities just got unlucky with circumstances last week but thats doo racing so race they shall .
aye ready Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 sending all to the first race and if YBS should raise its ugly head then at least they have all had a race under their belt
