As young bird racing is not too far away now.......

How has your young bird training going?

How many tosses have you managed?

How many races do you plan to send to in your programme?

Are you on Darkness or natural or both?

Geordie i have had five tosses to date the first one was a disaster as percy went straight through the batch, since then everything has been fine. I intend to go to all the races with my natural younsters but who knows as one bad race can finish your season.

Once again due to percy I've started with a small team, had 32 ended up with 20 to train, got them to twenty mile about five times, had first race last week sent them all and dropped one, took first four tickets, don't like loosing youngens, they are the future. All on darkness.

Had 1 X 7mls 3 x 10 mls and 1 x 20 mls ,will get another 3 at 20 mls then 2 at 27 mls in groups then with what time is left weather wise will get put up in 2's or 3's from 27 mls .

On darkness and natural, darkie hens every race, cocks 140 mls then depending on health of team some may go to 180 mls

Not lost a hen yet ,six cocks down but far to many carrying injuries at this rate will have to open an A&E wing .

Cant complain had far greater disasters but early days yet watch this space :emoticon-0127-lipssealed:

Have only had a couple of tosses with my 35 youngsters, first one from 5 mile which took them 45 mins and the next one from 20m which took them 23mins. The good thing about these babies is that they are scorching the skies here around home for up to an hour and a half.
