eastcoaster Posted June 28, 2012 Report Posted June 28, 2012 Well i was 2nd west sect and i`m chuffed to bits . but as a man from the East i don`t understand why we are so far behind either but believe me it is bloody hard racing through here but no exuses but my pigeon is a full sister to our 3rd open Bovington and that was from east lothian so have flown in both area`s and scored ,maybe we need to get some trackers on our doo`s to tell us more .Good luck all in in the Gold cup .

Think if you look closely at most SNFC results of the last few years the areas that dominate do tend to lie in the "best position" they also have more races in their programme, further YB races and more races over 200 miles etc etc. as well as controllers who take what could be percieved as risks with the birds regarding liberations. All this leads to fanciers in these areas having better pigeons in my opinion I have results here yellow with age in which the West section have 80 birds in the top 100.Why then and not now?

Lewis, I thought you were up to speed.Drag, wind and location, simple as that.In the years your talking about there were 3000 birds from the west in most races and the majority of fanciers were from here.Alot of them moved east for work when the pits shut down here and the rest is history. You watch any yb national result nowadays, the way the doos come is, section B, then A then C then D then G then E then F, THIS IS THE USUAL TREND.Its the same as any inland national off the east coast. dirent tipe of day that was frome eastbourn the noth west wind was bending the trees that day Another thing Tam, im sure Lanarkshire fed went with the national that day as well, which makes it even worse.

Lanarkshire are still the largest fed in the country the difference between them compared to other feds is the others tend to tailor their programmes towards the nationals.Drag could be swayed but from what I read on here most days its the attitude of the fanciers that has a lot to do with it.These fanciers have themselves beaten before the birds are even in a basket and thats in the fed and in the nationals. Section B may lie in the east but if you were an outsider looking at the work their pigeons have had prior to the inland races with no knowledge of location at all. This is the sections birds you'd out your money on everytime?? Back to what I stated early about areas dominating. This is not based on just one race but if you take for instance Dundee compared to Lanarkshire and look at their controllers, who are slandered weekly on here for very different reasons.Which controller's fed are having arguably their best ever spell in national racing and which controller's fed are having their worst since they took over?? Just to clarify I personally have nothing but admiration and respect for these two fanciers and wouldn't publicly slander anyone doing these jobs, its just an observation and perhaps a reason why one location's national positions are improving each year and the other is getting worst??
