Delboy Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 Is it true that 2 of the controllers have resigned and for what reason. These guys are hard to replace and i hope they were not over-ruled by officials? The doos were moved to Cheltenham and the 2 controllers knew fk all about it.It had been decided they were going to leicester before hand by the officials and controllers but someone decided different , expletive remove
Walter swanston Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 With clear information about what the situation is (updated regularly) fanciers would then know what has been happening and a lot of this controversy would vanish.
Delboy Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 Derek Xc weather and the met office are showing light south east /east wind's there is still a lot of showers around hopefully not to heavy If its s e , theyve got wee chance but still plenty of losses.
budgie Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 (edited) For the Guys who are using ETS if the dont go up before your next race and if the pigoens were raced Sat past the system will not allow another race until the clock has been cleared of the previous race and you will need a 2nd Clock as confirmed by Jocky the Lanarkshire Fed Clock Setter and there may also be a problem after 7 days.Could Jocky confirm the Status on the ETS system to avoid anyone being caught out as what happened today at the Midweek race by some fanciers. Thats my prob, when you have sat for a lengthy time then wots another Day?? If nae good bring them back but the guessing is rubbish? No fussed wot direction they move as long as we get a decent race and the birds in good nick, which i think they will!!!

Guest KING BILLY Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 Im telling ye, if the doos get up at Cheltenham in a n.e wind, yer fked.Say goodbye to your good yins, expletive remove remember Marlborough last year in a n.e wind, now your further west.Madness, by the officials and there will be plenty of letters of complaint after the release.I have already officially objected to the race, and before any of ye start, the decision suits my loft location. Its not about that, its about whats right and fairness to everyone, the pigeons were put in the baskets with the view they would be released at Newbury, or that area.If we went to Ypres and the weather was bad in Belgium, what would you say if they took the birds to Alencon for a lib.A *expletive removed* disgrace of the highest order. Just when we were getting rid of the bad smell of cheating in the SNFC, we shoot ourselves in the foot.thats me ok then af only bad yins away so i should be all home lol

JohnQuinn Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 As a member of the SNFC management committee i would just like you all to know that i was NOT spoken to before or since the decision to move was taken. At this moment in time i am none the wiser as to who was actually consulted or who was involved in taking the control of the race over the heads of the ELECTED race controllers. Also as far as i know, though i haven't spoken to him yet, Jim Hannah has resigned from the position of controller if not the SNFC all together, but i hope he hasn't.I am also of a mind that those responsible for this should resign forthwith.
tyson Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 we the controllers had spoken with officials that if birds could not be liberated today we would move them in the afternoon to leicester for a liberation tomorrow as forcast was better on east side of country olso it would give the pigeon approx 2hrs less on the wing giveing them a better chance of getting home especially the birds going up north but we were never told what was happening in other words our intention was overuled as the forcast after tomorrow is all down hill again we were only thinking of the welfare of the birds so I wish who ever takes on the race controllers jobs the best of luck as I think you will need it peter calder ex snfc race control team

peter pandy Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 I have read all the posts a couple of times and conclude that we have only heard controllers version of events.! But I usually find their are two sides to every discussion and I wonder if the true scenario is as follows. The race controller instructs the convoyer to ready the transporter for liberation however the convoyer replies NO due to overcast conditions and not a peep is coming from the birds. An argument ensues and convoyer makes contact with the secretary who informs president there is a conflict of opinion regarding liberation. Convoyers are the people on the spot and president takes their expert opinion over-ruling race controllers. You may think this scenario is poppycock however this is JMO based on posts at 10.00. 11.27. 12.01. 13.25. 13.33. 13.35. 13.51. 14.01. 14.09. 14.46. 15.14. 15.19. 15.30. 15.31. 15.35. & 16.24. As a past federation race controller I always valued the convoyers decision and adhered to it regardless.
