sapper756 Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 I have read this on 2 other sites, stating that some lofts in Wales have been put into isolation after birds bought from a source in Leir market, were reported to be dying in lofts. Can anyone shed any light on this allegation?http://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0138-thinking.gif
billt Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 As you say, only what I have read on other sites, Birds bought at Liers by fanciers on a trip from Newport, Gwent.
Guest stb- Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 APPARENTLY WHATEVER THEY WERE CARRYING THEY WIPED OUT THE GUYS OWN LOFTS OF PIGEONS AND THERE NOW IN ISOLATION

greenlands Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 Just read this on another site."west wales federation racing has been cancelled till further notice."Sorry for the lads and lasses concerned .
Tony C Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 Another disservice the continentals have done to us. I would love to see a ban on imports.
geordie1234 Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 How do we know it was the continentals that brought it with them? I'm sure hundreds were brought back all over UK but the only place this has cropped up is Wales
BLACK W F Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 How do we know it was the continentals that brought it with them? I'm sure hundreds were brought back all over UK but the only place this has cropped up is Walesi know plenty who have brought birds in this year and they are in perfect health so christ knows what these welsh fanciers have got but hope they get it sorted

I'm sure hundreds were brought back all over UK but the only place this has cropped up is Wales so what your implying is that its not from over the water ,but wales.?? for your info the only lofts affected have brought in birds from lier market on the trip .other lofts are not affected. how do you know that anyone else hasnt got it somewhere and hasnt said anything?also how long does it take for an infection to go through a sellers loft over in holland/belgium...and did the other lofts that have bought birds from abroad bought them on the same day as these poor welsh fanciers? officials have already stated that they believe its was brought in with these birds from abroad.

Guest IB Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 Sorry to hear this. I wonder if the current veterinary certificate arrangement is strong enough to do what it is meant to do - stop things like this from happening? Be interesting to know who signs them and what examination takes place beforehand.

Guest Tooshy Boy Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 IT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO ANYONE JUST LETS SEE IF WE CAN GET IT SORTED OUT ...
Roland Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 Well, I have a open mind here. Whatever the why's and wherefores are, I just hope - if there is any truth in this story, that those concern are acting sensibly and not allowing any other birds near them... lET ALONE SENDING ANY BIRDS TRAINING - MAY GET LOST, OR RACING ETC. Ofcourse any selling on etc. must be taboo at present till if and when there is anything to be resolved has been dealt with. JMO I well remember the palaver when the Belgium goverment - Not so long back - had to take strong measures, even court action etc. when they were over using the drugs etc. and exporting. This was of course to clear the matter up to enable their reputations, and any further exports.
Geraint Parry Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 heard from a bloke this morning that all races under the WHU have been suspended until further notice.
