peter pandy Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 I know it is not my business, however, if you permit me I would suggest you forget a full time Fed Sec as the position now with computers has been a marvelous asset in time saving for this sport to anyone holding the position.I noticed that your Fed has 453 members this year which will in all probability reduce to 425 for 2012.Ian Henderson was recieving a salary dictated on your balance sheet and by dividing that sum by the number of Fed members "453" for 2011 it gives you the sum which each member "per se" paid for in 2011 which should be the starting point in any salary determination for the future. £5 per member at the present number of members gives a salary of £2,265 per annum which is not to bad a figure for the number of members.

cemetary Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 You have got to pay the top dollar now folks, cause at the end owe the day, nae sec, nae fed,
peter pandy Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 So sorry I am not a member of Lanarkshire however, I WOULD AND COULD DO IT STANDING ON MY HEAD FOR THAT SALARY.
frank-123 Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 I think a new secretary will give us a lift with new idea's to drive the fed onto greater things. Wednesday and Saturday racing the Wednesday race(60-100 mile) would help to pay greater prize money for the the Saturday races. Federation result ,club result's on-line asap after every race. Pool money up for grabs in every race Lanarkshire west club have shown the way we fly for great money and most members compete every week. The fed need to look at a new trailer with new wicker basket's a better watering system for the trailer we don't need a fancy geraldy if we pay peanuts ....we will get a monkey

peter pandy Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 MONKEY NO !!! However a fool and his money comes to mind !!!. Perhaps I should have elaborated on the involvement and where a Fed Secretary is at the mercy of club secs delaying their race results. As a past Fed Sec I do know what is involved and the time scale. Their is no difference whether its 200 or 1000 members if the capability of the computer programne is capable. After all they do not have to calculate long and short runs of clocks, ETS is to the car and the horse, Accountancy is not difficult if you have a knowledge of maths. There are many ways in which income can be achieved to the benefit of all and last but not least some fanciers would be proud to be the Secretary of Lanarkshire Federation.

Being passionate and progressive are 2 other requirements that the the new secretary should have and this for me only comes from a member within who loves his fed, outsiders cannot bring this to the table. JMO
Guest WHITE DOO Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 We will need to pay £16k+ to get a good man or woman for the job and it don't need to be some from inside the fed as someone outside will do just as good.

Perhaps i am asking for the holy grail, but that is what i believe is best for the Lanarkshire federation. I want someone to do the job because they want too and be proud to hold that position, not someone who is only thinking of the money in his or her hand at the end of the week.

Strange post from you Gareth as you won't do the job to concentrate on earning a decent living for you and yours!! The man leaving the post will tell ANYONE clever enough to listen to him that it is IMPOSSIBLE for a Working man to do his main job, run the Fed and Manage a team of racing pigeons, something would have to give and it would NEED to be his pigeons as the other 2 you get Paid for. jmo
