Now that the 2011 season is well behind us, what products if any did you use?

And, which will you continue using and recommend to others?

And which in your opinion, were a total waste of good money?

Thank You

does any of you use bleach?? just watched the fenwick & howard dvd and they use bleach in the drinker and in the bath water, not used it myself like, i have been using gem products but next year going back to using aviform ultimate and johnsons tonic, cider vinegar and garlic

I have been using thin bleach(30ml to 2 litres, in colder temperatures, 10ml to 2 litres in warm temperatures) say for the last three weeks after some advice from a top sprint flyer. Have to say i've been impressed by the way the birds have been moulting and the health they are showing, but it is used only once a week.

Used Dioralyte in the past on return from stiffer races. Not used any electrolytes since starting back up with the birds a couple of years back but may use next season :emoticon-0138-thinking:

a lot of books im reading over the last few years say its pointless giving electrolytes to pigeons :emoticon-0138-thinking:

Yip I read a bit about it recently as well. The experiment carried out in the book I was reading showed that the birds salt levels returned to normal quicker after a hard race using electrolytes in some form.Albeit the differences were fairly minimal in comparison with the doos that returned to clean water.

Dioralyte is a rehydration mixture for human consumption, its available in a few flavours and can be bought cheaply from any chemist. Its mainly used for small children who have had a bad bout of diarrhoea :emoticon-0136-giggle:

Not used any electrolytes in years but they're one of these products that if they do your birds no good, they shouldnae do them any harm
