Guest IB Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 Waiting on 3 from yesterday's Wakefield. Up 5am thought weather then was looking good for any missing birds working home, but no, soon turned to wind & heavy rain again. My last pigeon dropped 7pm last night, maybes had a few in 'the drookit duck', she certainly looked like one.

blucock Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 The more the the better as far as am concerned, Ayrshire did liberate with Ballochmyle and Lanarksire this morning ,Ballochmyle Federation have been liberating with Lanarkshire for the past 2weeks and the racing has been very good. As far as line of flight goes , what good does racing your youngsters out to berwick do them , You should have a wee look at a map, line of flight as you call it from the south into central ayrshire runs right through ballochmlye fed as all the clubs are in the Ayrshire. A bad race , lets blame somebody..!! Am no blaming anyone for a bad race - if you read the post I said it would be nice to know the intention before you select what to send. Libbing with Lanrkshire fed I termed russian roulette for birds with hardly any experience. Thats my opinion, yours is the more the better. If theres any blame its on us for no racing these birds harder before yesterdays race to give them more experience. The same birds would go to Marlborough with the SNFC 2 weeks later but with 2 more races over their backs. The rain coming in didnt give the birds the whole day to work back as some would have, so apologies if you think I was blaming race officials - I thought overall it was a good race, just not the circumstances I would have chose for them birds at that point. We didn't know that the intention was to go up with the Lanrakshire boys. Have a good season in BMyle. Onward to Newark. Baz
chrissyboy1 Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 Managed to get my last two this morning , Selby Lanarkshire
budgie Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 What,s the reasoning behind and waiting to go with other Federations. The Lanarkshire should be liberating on thier own and earlier than the USUAL Gossip nae word till 10.00am then word come,s through that they are going at 8.45 am. We all new the bad weather front that was coming in.As usual waiting to see other Feds clearing and some not even communicating to let us know when they are going. With 6000/7000 birds waiting to go get them up as early as possible and dont rely on others.
blucock Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 didnt even know we were going up Ayrshire Ballochmyle and Lanarkshire as one lib... as stated before. I suppose its up to the race controller on the day.

budgie Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 andy sack the controller No chance he just has to get away fro Old Fashined Ideas????
andy Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 27/27 with Pentland yesterday from Newark. Some Pentland members even timed yearlings that were timed from Peterboro on Wednesday. Budgies 98% rule does come into play but you boys in the West dont race them hard or far enough as youngsters hence all waiting on yearlings... :emoticon-0138-thinking:
chrissyboy1 Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 With the rain and the wind in the west , this is probable nearer the mark for the late birds. Was in Edinburgh yesterday , no rain and high cloud up till 4 30pm.But agree that we could possible go to 200 miles with the youngsters but possible wouldn't get a good turn out.

You must remember Andy, never mind Budgies rule, you could race budgies oot of Newark where you are.
