Bluedoo Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Sadly none to go. Bovingdon has taken its toll. Only just got them back down on eggs at the weekend. Should be better prepared for Ypres/Falaise. Ouch 40 miles difference Peterhead & Dundee. Best of luck to all who send anyway.
Delboy Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 577 miles to me ( all uphill lol ) sending 6 tonight, all the best to everyone. This is the Number One race of the year, dont hesitate because its a long winter

Guest bigda Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 looks like a transit van will be big enough, think the game is about finished
Guest bigda Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 looks like the first three in each section now and all the pools are gone
budgie Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 There are not many away i think they will be lucky to reach 1000.In our own club some never sent because of club averages
frank-123 Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 just cant understand how people would miss this race for ypresits like the grand national or derby of pigeon racing to test yourself against the best birds and fanciers in scotland ever since i was a young boy rennes was the race you wanted a timer although rennes is no longer the race still means the same to me
andy Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 just cant understand how people would miss this race for ypresits like the grand national or derby of pigeon racing to test yourself against the best birds and fanciers in scotland ever since i was a young boy rennes was the race you wanted a timer although rennes is no longer the race still means the same to meMe too. The Eastbourne doos (yearlings) can go back to Ypres
Chris Little Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Quite right Frank. The SNFC Gold Cup was the once regarded be all and end all, nothing else mattered. The main subject in the pub after marking tonight was the 7000+ birdage in the 70's Only today a guy at my work with no doo connections at all asked if it was Rennes soon, everyone in Scotland associates Rennes with pigeons, when I tell people names such as Reims, Messac, Alencon, La Ferte Bernard etc they look bewildered. Far too many SNFC nowdays with less fanciers and diluted birdages, who the hell invented inland nationals..... and yes I am a past winner of one !!! As Bigda says...... a tranny van beckons.... sad but very true

VMS Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Birdage for me is irrelevant when it comes to a race of this stature, the Highlight of the clubs racing calendar. You are racing against the very best, that is the biggest challenge and the most inspiring.Good luck to all that send to this race.
Pego Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Sent 4 to the GOLD CUP race. 2 cocks, 2 hens. 3yo hen and 2yo cock sitting 14 day eggs, 3yo hen and 2yo cock sitting 11 day eggs. Best of luck to all who have sent.
