superstar
I doubt they will get many today, weather isnt on their side, woke up to monsoon like weather here in Hereford and thats on their line of flight as the birds come through here and no way is a moulting, tired youngster going far in this
Guest chrisss
sorry what i meant what are the numbers that have flown back [not brought back in boxes to be sold to make these vultures even more cash]sorry just my view ,but i get the impression that they had to go up regardless[its sunday, next day work for most ,bellies full of beer, are you going to tell this mob its a holdover?],its 50/50 for a good race, one will always get through, and enough after to fill the sheet,so up they go [poor sods] its not just the final race how many have been lost in total, training, and"hot spots" or whatever they call them,i might well be wrong about all of this [according to the wife i always am ;D ;D ;D]but i always thought that you got line of flight weather forcasts for races, before they go,which means to this mere novice that either it was not done [pressure to go] or stevie wonder done it for them ;D ;D ;D, i will accept that i [a mere mortal] might be wrong in all of this, but will we ever find out,or will it be "spun" ready for next years sacrifice [sorry big money race"
tarzan
wonder how many of the auction birds will have arrived back to the loft in cars couriers etc , 26 poor birds back after two days bloody disgrace ,no thought for the pigeons health and safty ,and they say there the future of our sport , these sort of races should be stopped ,they do nothing to promote this hobby of ours ,infact we are playing into the hands of people who constantly complain about flying rats with the continual loss of thousands of pigeons ,with not a care in the world into our towns and cities across britain im sure the write up will say it was a difficult race ,i would say it was a bloody disaster and a bloody disgrace

PJ I have highligthed yours not because it is better than some of the others but because I can not fault what you have said. A very good thought out piece. Novice
There is no doubt birds were sacrificed in the quest to line pockets. Unfortunately this is part and parcel of the commercialism which has ruined this hobby (sport) callit what you will. I was astounded that a certain scribe surfaced from the woodwork in the BHW. a week ago and another this week to sing the praises of Galaxy Lofts. There is no doubt that the proprieter owned class pigeons but did the sale really require these people generating further interest on behalf of a friend. Yes I wandered off topic I suppose but this is all part of the same parasitic illness.
