ch pied
just out of interest what sort of percentage of birds get lost in these one loft races, under good weather conditions? europa started with 2,200 , the last race 1,200 , but as a rule of thumb i would guess 75% are lost
Guest tom123
well, i have read all the comments on here and yes there is a plenty of drink food and all that on the day thats part and parcel of one loft races but i must stress that the most dissapointed pair on sun evening was the main man himself dereck nicholes and his side kick russel wot they would have done to have seen a pigeon hit the roof that i night i dont no but what we all must realise how many of us can go into their lofts now and say they have flown all the young bird races to date and can count 25 % remaining federation convoyers / race controllers can lose 50 % of their convoy on one race and have the chance to clear themselves the following week by having a good race in the one loft race they only had one shot at it ok it was disapointing not to see any birds home but the field was full on the monday morning with fanciers awaiting arrivals and i bet they will be back next year too

Guest Vic
Why are they stamped with Europea in the first place? We all know that 1 loft races are exploiting the game ALONG with many unfortunate pigeon flyers. But to leave it open to fiddle is another story. So why stamp them with EUROPEA. Is it not for the after race profits, that they MUST depend on? for their Rolex watchers etc. lol.

Not including those lost in the run up!
Guest Vic
As with most one loft races, some birds do not "Gel" on being removed from their previous cosy environments, and are losers before they get there. This is most probably the reason , why so many ybs are lost by being evacuated, at such a tender age. ybs today, remind me of society today, and the young kids. Grown up too quick! It is then, when we expect trouble. . They have not got their brains sorted.
