anybody had any yb die in the nest with this cold weather

where having , said to get even colder next few days

2nights temp. up here in Fife, is forecast to be minus 4 :-/

rather mild in somerset then 1 degree at the moment

young should be fine if they are being covered properly by hens and are on bedding

 

chris , i was just thinking of some yearlings some times they dont

sit very tight do they , but yes lots of bedding to keep them warm

It was -7 here at 6 o'clock. Definately the frozen north.

 

Blimey!! thats nearly as cold as the looks my wife gives me. :o

Plenty of grub in the shed is the order of the day, you dont want the pigeons coming of the young not even for a minute. They'll know when their sitting duty is over they'll be food there so they wont leave their young as they would if you fed them certain amounts at certain times. Also make sure your down the loft at a sparrows fart to change the drinker.
